I can relate to that. In my last decade of nursing I had to refuse to be alone with a female patient in a room with the door closed more than once, and I had to be extremely careful of what I said as any "transgression" would have seen me in serious doodoo. Even reading a magazine with a female in a bikini on the cover had me attacked by one feminazi. I started my nursing career on a children's ward. By the time I left nursing I would never have even considered working on a children's ward. In the NHS it became so barking, that even female nurses were banned from giving children a hug if they were distressed.

You know little about it. Medicine is chocka with people judging others. They just don't normally do so within the hearing of the judged. I experienced a case where an abused child came onto the ward and all the female staff decided the father did it because he looked unusual, but it wasn't him doing the abuse- it was the mother.

Not many would nowadays. One of the requirements ( not stated in the nice booklets encouraging the gullible to become nurses ) is to tolerate vast amounts of abuse while doing the job. On my training course there was another male that had previously been a banker, decided to help people rather than exploit them. He lasted about a month before he'd had enough of the managerial abuse. Being punished for some minor infraction by being told to clean the bed pans by hand was the final straw, and he went back to banking. BTW, the worst abusers in my experience during training were not females, but males that had become managers. Believe it or not, by the time I decided to give it a go the situation had improved, but hardly enough. Classes for nurses in the 60s used to start with about 50 students, and were soon reduced to a fraction of that number once reality set in.

Always been so. The Tsar wasn't overthrown and executed for being nice to the peasants. Which is in no way excusing the vile treatment of the peasants, just that it's always been that way in that unfortunate part of the planet.

Updates and events in the War in Ukraine 2025

80 million years ago? I didn't think people existed back then, unless they are evolved dinosaurs. Besides, the track probably broke for some other reason than enemy action, given the tankies are unconcerned about enemy fire, they were reversing at the time it fell off, and there is no evidence of damaged track running gear. As said above, stop supplying weapons. The ghostly laughter that can be heard as Sudanese destroy each other and the country is Gordon, from his grave. It's a war over money. The RSF controlled resources, the army wanted them, bingo, war ensues.

What is all? Are you saying that a Christian can't nurse properly, which is a nonsense. Most people would have zero ability to be a good nurse. I've worked with some that were rubbish and not Christian, and some that were Christians and very good nurses. Filipinas are excellent nurses that work all over the western world and most are Christians. Next.

Quite right too. IMO it's just a scam by the luvies, and does nothing to mitigate the problems. We need more problem solvers and less "scientists". I've met a lot of scientists down in Antarctica, and while they were nice guys, some of the science they were doing was no better than make work to get paid junk.

Thanks again. You answered the question I had not asked, about the N-E bond. I asked an electrician about that but I was unable to understand his answer- far too technical. I even looked it up on the internet, but again far too technical for me to understand. I can't get my head around the idea that N and E can be bonded but not provide a short to earth.

You must be a newbie. You certainly know nothing about the Thais to speak of, if you don't understand why Pattaya is the way it is. If you had been elsewhere in LOS during Songkran you'd know that it's like that all over, just not as long as in Pattaya. There is more to life for Thais than profit, which is a hard concept for capitalists, I know.

Todays Slapdown of the Lawfare Practitioners

If getting rid of criminals, stopping illegals at the border, banning DEI, MMCC, gender fiasco takes an idiot, so be it. He's winning domestically, unlike the absent brain previous occupant of the W H that lost at everything. -

I do. I'm following it on Al Jazeera. There are no threads about it on AN though. -

You are correct to blame Britain, but France is also to blame for the whole sorry mess. They lied to the Arabs about independence if they helped against the Turks, and divided it up between them instead. Then the British ran away because of a few terrorists ( the Stern gang with Begin ) and left the mandate to be divided up by the UN. Don't make the mistake of thinking the war will be over if the Palestinians are ethnically cleansed. They'll just keep the fight going from wherever they are expelled to. There are millions of them in Jordan already. This is the forever war, IMO. -
IPhones to Hit $3.5K? Trump Tariffs Spark Apple Revolt
thaibeachlovers replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Three companies despised by IMO millions. Tesla is becoming insignificant ( perhaps Trump's tariffs will keep the rotten company going a while longer, Apple is only loved by rich brand luvies, and MS is a nasty company that deserves to be consigned to hell, for it's vile practice of trying to force people to buy new versions far too often, and then half of them are garbage- does anyone love windows 8?
