Getting used to live in a wheel chair

Actually it's not absurd at all. It takes money out of poor pockets and gives it to the 1%. They are happy- job done. Given that the 1% still fly around in private planes they obviously don't think it's a problem worth worrying about, and there is a certain US president that bought beach front property in Hawaii, so he obviously doesn't think it's a crisis. However, the 1% need to keep the sheeple occupied with irrelevant things so they don't start asking awkward questions, and man made climate change is as good a diversion as there could be.

Soooo, there is more CO2 in the atmosphere, whoopy doo. What are governments doing about it? you'll have to tell me because I don't see anything being done about it that is affordable, effective and acceptable. In NZ we just got rid of the stupid government that wanted to tax farmers into bankruptcy because cows belch methane, and good riddance to the idiots.
-
You nailed it, but some on here will believe that if they keep saying "humans caused it" over and over enough, the problem will go away. Despite me asking for their solutions I always get no response about any solutions that are affordable, effective and acceptable. Governments love those that want more tax for them to waste.

Looks like Blinken's mission is on its way back to the US without much to show for it. Not much love being shown by Jordan and the Egyptians were quite frosty. Never mind, he got to be BFF with his buddy netanyahu again. Apparently he's stopping off in Turkey, though he may wish to avoid that disappointment, as the Turks are not impressed. It's not looking good for the US as support drains away as the populace of the western nations are increasing demands for a ceasefire. Meanwhile in London, a HUGE demonstration in Trafalgar square demanding a ceasefire. Large demonstrations in the US too, even outside the white House.

The Biden administration is increasingly looking on the wrong side of history as the death toll of Palestinian children rises. Massive demonstrations around the world supporting Palestinians, and calling for a ceasefire. Apparently calls in Turkey for a convoy of ships protected by the navy to bring aid to Gaza. Now won't that be something if it happens. If israel attacks it like the last one they are attacking a NATO country so the US is obliged to go to its aid. I hope the convoy goes ahead. I don't normally make predictions of the future, but I think I'm pretty safe pointing out that israelis outside israel will be targets for revenge. Did netanyahu fail to take world reaction into account?

Heading to Japan, TOMORROW...

I have no sympathy. If you didn't go and stay a while to see if you like it before moving for good you got the predictable result. When I moved permanently ( or I had hoped to ) I had visited Thailand many times for long periods, so knew exactly what I was moving to. -

When women are educated and have careers that make them wealthy, why would Japanese women marry into the salaryman culture to a life revolving around a man and children? They are probably the most sane women on the planet not to look at marriage as something desirable. As anyone that knows my rambling understands, I have no wish to see children in a world rapidly being destroyed by overpopulation, so Japanese women are carrying the torch for depopulation, and kudos to them for it. While I am a male, I look at the males on offer in my life and for the most part I have to wonder why women are so desperate to marry them. PS. I also look at the women on offer in my life and I have to wonder why any sane man would marry them. The successful marriages that I know personally number 1 and in that case my friend and his wife were both exceptionally nice people. The few that stayed together devolved into some sort of loveless cohabitation. PPS, Yes I did get married for a while, but I plead insanity as a reason. -

In a country with laws mandating wheelchair access to public buildings a wheelchair is not an obstacle to enjoying life. I know that as a fact. Thailand has no laws mandating wheelchair access to pavements, never mind public buildings. -
Which gift has your partner appreciated the most?

but a kid that is legal for sex, assuming she still does. My petulant kid in women's skin didn't even do that much for me and got a divorce as a result. -

LOL. My wife bought me a bicycle for my birthday, but I had to give her the money to buy it. She always put in an order for mascara of a brand not available in LOS when I went back to home country- damn expensive stuff even duty free. She did say thank you, but that was as far as it went. -
CD Collection For Sale or For Use As Loan Guarantee

Congratulations on your service, but it has no bearing on the value of your CD collection. I probably have more than that,, and more records than that, and more DVDs than that, all of which are of little value if I tried to sell them. In fact they will be given to a charity shop after I'm gone where they will be sold for a few cents or a couple of $. Stealing music is so easy on the internet that people can store hundreds of songs on a device as big as my thumb nail for the cost of the flash drive. -

You beat me to it. I can buy CDs in mint condition in NZ for $0.50 cents. A CD or DVD collection is now only of value to the owner. -
Making it up again! I say that it's not proven that human activity is causing it in any significant way. I also say that I've seen no solutions to the problem that are affordable, doable and affordable. So far the tax tax tax mantra is BS IMO. I've asked you for your solutions, but you never give me any and then you complain when I don't answer your questions on a different subforum.

DIY is never guaranteed to work properly, and one may end up alive but worse off. If it comes to that I'd go to Switzerland if able. -

I lived with a paraplegic for a while. She started a wheelchair dance group which was great fun. I knew loads of wheelchair users through the paraplegic organisation, and got to be really skilled in using a wheelchair myself. Wheelchairs are a problem in Thailand as getting around is a nightmare, so I can't suggest anything other than getting in touch with the Pattaya orphanage ( Father Ray's ) as they have loads of wheelchair users, to see what options are available.
