I used to spend a very long time behind a screen when I worked 3 days weeks. Not unusual to do so for 36 hours straight on my days off. Did it affect me negatively- perhaps. Did I waste a lot of my life I could have spent doing better things- absolutely. Do I spend too much time on here- absolutely, but it stops me thinking about my life, so that's why I do so.

Not so. I've thought about suicide, as past posts would confirm, but I'm not depressed. I just don't see the point in hanging around in the mad world we humans have created for ourselves. I haven't tried because it's actually quite hard to succeed and ending up a vegie isn't my idea of a better life. I've had counselling provided by the NHS and not once did they ask me if I wanted to off myself.

If referring to outside bars that's BS IMO. The girls sit on the inside of the bar and the customers on the outside. The gogos are where the fondling goes on. As for kissing them like that, more likely that they will get a good knee to the groin than succeed. Sadly planes make more profit for the usual suspects so they will continue to be used. I reckon they think that as only poor people use the trains they are not worth improving. I'm only saying what would be better than planes, but I have no hope that anything will improve. I'm writing in a country that has invested so pitifully in it's public transport that to get around a car is essential for all but the very poorest. In comparison, Thailand has the best public transportation on the planet ( I'm not claiming it does, as just comparing it to where I live ). I loved traveling by train in Thailand and never flew if I could avoid it.

You may be surprised to learn that I hold the Washington establishment politicians equally as bad as each other, whatever party they claim to belong to. I don't see much difference between the sides. If you really want to stop illegal immigration, go out to the fields around Bakersfield or Riverside, catch the illegals and put their employers in jail. Agree 100%, and if I could I'd volunteer to arrest them myself.

Of course I have thought it through. Air travel is highly polluting, and not just in the planes, but in cars going to airport. Replace domestic air travel with good trains and no need for planes. Stations in the city, not far away, so short journeys on local public transport to get there. The answer is no planes, not more airports. Trains not planes.

LOL. Try entering Saudi with Christian symbols in evidence and you might find that France's ban is moderate in comparison. Can't wear such anywhere in public and women are forced to wear the abaya when in public. Why do the woke liberals only criticize western countries?

I doubt clinical depression can be treated just by changing one's job. If doing so works, it was just that the job was wrong. People confuse real depression with being a bit unhappy. I'm not depressed, but I suffer from melancholia which is probably just as bad.

He is just ignorant, and shouldn't be listened to. It's real, and is caused by chemicals, or lack of, in the brain. The problem is getting the right advice/ help. In NZ it's basically impossible for a non rich person to get any psychological help. The public psych services have been run down to the point of uselessness.

I doubt a drug addict is open to anything beyond the next fix. I presume you are talking about those susceptible to the drug BS, but not yet addicted.

Far far better to build better and faster railways. Why are the man made climate warriors not out demonstrating against civil aviation, as it is a major pollutant of the atmosphere? Perhaps because they like flying as much as anyone who doesn't believe it.
