While I disagree they want us "gone" they are certainly making it as hard as possible to stay. If they really wanted us gone it would be easy to do so- just require 2 million baht in the bank permanently to renew extension, or such like. I don't think they care about us as much as you think they do. I doubt they spend any time thinking about expats, other than getting as much money out of them as possible.

While I don't "hate" home country, agree with some of what you say. Far as I can see, femininity is long gone and strident feminism is in. I miss the cute feminine Thai girls. Full of woke and PC people or gangsters and antisocial creeps. I never felt as much at risk of harm in LOS.

A lovely sentiment, but in my experience things only get worse. Eg banks no longer offer the services they used to; my local bank recently went to 2 days a week despite company earning billions in profit, and have to ring or do things on line instead of with a person in the bank. It's blatant greed. The worship of money is everywhere and it's making our lives bad IMO. Re Thailand, I used to be able to get 90 days on arrival and could renew with a border trip indefinitely. Hardly the case now.

I don't think they care if she likes them or not. Just so long as they get their jollies. Far as I understand it, it is a job to them. IMO it's like working in Saudi- I did it for the money, not to enjoy it.

Does it matter when it was made? Vivaldi's music is as enjoyable now as when he made it. The electronic stuff kids listen to now will probably be forgotten in a year or less. Disposable music like everything else the young like.

Not where I lived. Anyway the electronic garbage they like to blast at volume 11 hadn't been invented back then. It's not the music per se that's annoying, but the beat that is all one can hear at half a kilometer away. It's like someone hitting one's wall with a hammer over and over for hours.

Girls are itching to get away which you can often see when they run out the hotels and condos at 5am Never happened to me unless I told them to leave. My preferred option was to find one I liked and keep her for the rest of my holiday. Usually they'd moved away or got married or something when I returned next holiday, so had to find a different one, but I did have the same one for 8 years till she found someone richer to marry. That may have been a "fake" experience, but it was pretty good. Better than some needy western girl anyway.

Why so? It took me a while to work it out in home country but IMO "nice" women were in it for the long term gain, not to enjoy a relationship that didn't lead to a ring, kids and a house.

and what's wrong with that? Far as I'm concerned the western "dating game" benefits only women that get free movies, booze and dinners, without necessarily having to do anything for it. Men are the losers in that scene. In Pattaya men ( or at least their money ) are the winners. I had western female friends, but usually avoided any attempt at "pulling" as the few times I did so it ended badly for me. I just didn't have the goodies ( nice car, house, status job etc ) to be an attractive prospect. I did have the occasional opportunity, but only with desperate women or those looking for a substitute father for their offspring.

Like everything today, it's all about money. The days of musicians like Ray Stevens with "Gidget the midget" and "Gitarzan" will not be seen again IMO, as just don't make enough money. I like the VDOs on U Tube from the 50s and 60s when uncool and sometimes unattractive people stood still and sang great songs in black and white. Seems to me the music industry sold it's soul and got a lemon in return.

Isn't K pop, J pop etc all about the girls dancing on VDO? I think the music is just an excuse to get visuals of cute girls in very short dresses doing routines. I believe it started in Japan for computer nerds that had loads of money but couldn't get a girlfriend and was on a small scale with the guys in the same room as the girls. I saw it on a tv show about Japanese culture way back in the mid 90s. There was even a special name for the nerds, Otaku.

Indeed that's how most of us ( I suppose), of the older age group heard music we liked for the first time- on the radio. If we liked it we went to the record store and bought the 45 and if we liked that we bought the LP. Some of us actually have lives that don't involve spending hours on google to find stuff we like. Some of us actually have more important things to do.

Many people of German descent live in the US. To my knowledge it was Hitler declaring war on the US that brought it into the European war. Tell me if that's wrong. IMO if not for that, the US may not have done so and confined itself to the Pacific war against Japan.

It never was the norm in Pattaya before covid. I was always amazed at how little trouble of that sort there was.

I hope you realise that such a male person would be so small a % of all males on the planet as to need too many zeros behind the decimal point to post on here. Entirely possible if the genders were reversed though. BTW, how many single barmaids can afford a 3 bedroom apartment in London?
