  1. The plod have a lot of lost "income" to make up. I doubt it will stop anytime soon. Such is life in LOS. Meanwhile the rest of Thailand's people are hoping for customers to return to LOS, and they must despair every time they read of such raids as they know it'll be on social media sooner than later.
  2. Given the huge publicity generated by this, I suspect a number of potential visitors will not want to go there either. This has, IMO, given the Australian government a huge black eye, due to the incompetence and confusion that has been exhibited. On a scale of 1 to 10 of cockups, I reckon 11 or 12. I suspect a degree of pandering to a certain Oz demographic, but IMO seeing as how he was granted an exemption by the state government, they should have allowed it to go ahead and closed the loophole for future visitors. It's probably not like he is the only such case that has arrived, though without the publicity.
  3. If the railway is as bad as the airport, it's not going to be good for Thailand, IMO. At a time when Changi showed how it should be done, they built that suppurating pile of <deleted> instead.
  4. I wonder what "science" they are following by mandating wearing a mask in a car?
  5. I stayed at Bentota, in the "tourist special zone" where I was told not to go out at night. Nothing to go out for anyway, as no night life at all. Perhaps it's changed. Every time I went on the beach I had some guy try and get me to go to see the "baby elephant" except it was a shop and no elephant baby or otherwise to be seen. I won't go into the derelict train I almost went on to Hikudawa ( took a taxi instead and feared for my life the driver was so bad ), dodgy stuff I was sold or how I was in fear of my life ( during the day ) from a gang, but I soon worked out that Thailand was the far, far better option, and spent my entire week wishing I was in LOS.
  6. At least with the NHS if it goes wrong it's not going to cost to fix it, and they'd have to provide a carer for her as long as necessary ( more likely to put her into care ). Can't see a Thai hospital fixing a problem for free. I'd risk saying the op would be done by a consultant and not by some learner.
  7. She's much more attractive IMO than the previous one I just replied to. I'd certainly be interested.
  8. We really have different opinions as to what makes an attractive female. I wouldn't look twice at her.
  9. My routine is face legs body. Sadly in NZ it's rarely possible to see legs anymore as so many females wear long pants. A skirt is unusual. I miss Thailand.
  10. Well, I'm lucky to be in a country where it's not compulsory to wear one when alone in a car. What the <deleted> are they thinking? So far only compulsory to wear one inside shops/ restaurants etc and on public transport.
  11. I visited there once and swore never to go back again. Hotel reception advised me not to go out at night for fear of something bad happening to me. Boring and far too many con men around. Perhaps it's changed, but I'll never go to find out.
  12. Unless it's mandatory, why would anyone risk a false positive by having a test except if actually have symptoms?
  13. Meanwhile the cops are doing all they can to stop people having any fun. Given social media coverage of such, why would anyone want to visit Pattaya/ Thailand with that sort of <deleted> going on?
  14. Agree. I wear a mask in shops etc because it's easier than the hassle without, and I get a few chuckles when I see people driving alone with a mask on. As for the people wearing one when outside with no one close ............................ If it wasn't all so annoying it'd be humorous, IMO. Meanwhile, older kids are not wearing any.
  15. IMO plaster dust and wood particles will be several magnitudes larger than the corona virus.
  16. and, that's one Dr in one hospital. I'd say that is statistically irrelevant to what is happening world wide.
  17. The time I refer to was in the 90s not now. I'm pretty sure wages have increased since then. i haven't been employed as a nurse for many years- retiring was wonderful and couldn't wait to leave nursing forever. Also I was in NZ in the time referred to, not Australia and Australia has always to my knowledge paid more, which is why NZ nurses want to go work there. Back when nurse training was in hospitals nurses had loyalty to their training hospital, but since training moved to university, many nurses are gone overseas soon as possible to higher wages and conditions. The NHS was far superior in both than an NZ hospital. I left as soon as possible and never worked in NZ again- don't pay a decent wage, don't get the workers- end of. quote It is not possible for her to be able to afford a better car and house than you unless your money is going elsewhere. end quote Oh dear, you really shouldn't make personal comments about people you don't know- I was a student nurse. Older than most students, but paid the same- sod all. Still had to work my <deleted> off though; none of that "only there to observe" like for uni students. I left NZ to work overseas a couple of years after I graduated- sick of being an overworked, unappreciated, poorly paid chump. If I was going to be a nurse, I was going to go work where they paid real money for my skill. BTW, I could have done far better financially and had way more holidays working as a London Tube driver, and I'm certain they don't have to train for three years on a pittance to get the good money. Unfortunately, I was too old to be employed as such when I moved to London to work.
