  3. Even Jesus couldn't stop the fighting ...
  4. In addition to the Green Elephant Sanctuary Park, Fehr also runs the Green Elephant Wildlife Foundation, which does collect donations. But I'm sure that everything is "above board". https://www.pattayamail.com/thailandnews/phuket-revokes-license-of-elephant-foundation-owned-by-swiss-expat-454791
  5. Seems like a very thorough PM (sarcasm). I would have thought it's important to find out whether the drowning was caused by sunstroke, excessive alcohol, a medical condition, or some other factor. RIP young man. 22 is way too early to die.
  6. The blockers, or the blockees?
  7. Fishy indeed. "He finally opened the sanctuary with five pachyderms but it cost him all his savings. Slowly, the park is making a profit through half-day tours where visitors pay 2,500 Baht to bathe with elephants and get their photos taken. The money is immediately invested in the rescue of new animals." If he spent all his savings, and all income from the "sanctuary" is reinvested in it, where does the money for a luxury villa and expensive cars come from?

I think your best bet is Villa Market. https://shop.villamarket.com/product/234757
  9. The driver's version of events seems plausible. The tuk-tuk did not appear to change speed or direction, and was not travelling too fast. The Vietnamese lady was on her way to hospital - maybe she succumbed to her illness and fell out.
  10. Lazada has some shops that cater for big sizes. https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/big-size-clothes/?spm=a2o42.manage_account.search.d_go.20d6175dUtuUak&q=big size clothes&catalog_redirect_tag=true
  11. Is the key number logged in the bike's manual/service book?
  12. IMO - The problem is the steep and slippery sides of these very deep ponds, which are popular in Isaan. I suspect that the kids either go for a swim or fall in, and just can't climb out. Eventually they are so exhausted that they go under. It seems fairly common that one child gets into difficulty and others drown whilst trying to help. Looking at Owl's photos, his ponds seem to be shallow at the edges, which would make it easier for someone to climb out. Maybe there's some reason why the deep/steep-sided ponds are preferred by some. Maybe someone can explain. I have mentioned previously that my wife had one of these ponds dug for free on her small farm a few years back. The soil (clay) was taken away for roadworks. Last month she had the pond backfilled again with clay as it never produced any fish worth the trouble. When I read about these tragic drownings, I feel relieved that we will not have any kids drowning on her farm.
  13. That's me, between 2.00pm and 5.00pm.
  14. High praise from the Master himself.
  15. I'm waiting for the next episode - when the authorities discover that Bob's gate is an illegal build on public land, and tear it down.
  16. So he was a German, born in Austria, had a funny moustache, and was quite a naughty chap. Isn't that what I said?
  17. Just jesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler
