  1. No problem, as long as it's immediately accessible. I do the same for my retirement extension.
  2. You can gift her but you must not benefit from it, at all, in any way. So you living off it will not work. Having said that there is the question of the origin of the money (i.e., is it even accessible?) , your tax allowances, etc., better answered in the tax threads.
  3. You cannot receive any benefit from the gift to your wife, if you do it could be considered assesible income. So no, it's not a good idea. But on the other hand the chances anyone will ever care are close to zero, better just keep it in your own account and be done with it.
  4. True. But where you open the account doesn't dictate where you go for the extension paperwork, any branch can do that.
  5. The 'abroad' requirement is only for the initial non O visa. It is not required for subsequent extensions, as in your case.
  6. Easy in the UK last year, took 4 days and saves a trip to immigration. Well worth trying.
  7. There's a thread here that may be useful......https://aseannow.com/topic/1360906-us-passport-renewal-update-information/
  8. One of the main reasons I enjoy living in Bangkok is that I don't need a car. Can always rent one for trips as needed.
  9. My apartment also completes multiple entries on the government website and the departure date is not stated as "optional", however on the printout they give me it is.
  10. I did this last year and although it is not mentioned when applying I received an email a day or 2 later asking for " Flight details showing the applicant’s name, departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand". I had this so no problem in my case. Total turnaround time 4 days.
  11. Also made 2 transfers in the last week from Wise UK to Kasikorn. 20,000 each time. First took 3 hours, second 7 seconds. The problems seem unpredictable but perhaps more frequent if a US bank is involved and/or destination is Bangkok bank.
  12. No idea but as there is only one office it hardly matters. What is your "long term visa"?
  13. 1) there only one office so that's easy, Jomtien Soi 5.
  14. Kasikorn works fine for me. I have a nearby branch when needed. It's Wise friendly for transfers. Nice green colour. App works well.
  15. Can't blame them for that, what else is there?
  16. It's actually 2 months prior to/3 months after the date you apply, not the extension date itself. But anyway you'll be fine. And good luck with your treatment 👍
  17. No. The unpredictability is crucial to them maintaining control. I dumped everything in the desk last month, everything was kept. It's impossible to know what I could have skipped and still got the extension. Next year I'll go minimalist just for fun and see what happens.
  18. Correct. You can move the remaining 400k, doesn't need to be additional money. Just to make 100% at all times there is 400k visible in one of other account.
  19. The merchant won't have the full account details so it would take a little effort going to their bank to correct it. But of course they have already said they are worried about verification and security hence they prefer to wait for the tourists to come back in person😅
  20. I changed accounts in the past 12 months. During to 400k period I made sure both accounts had this amount and well before the 800k was needed I topped up the new account. I provided 12 months statements and copies of bank books for both accounts. New extension no problem last month at CW.
  21. Not so. Many places you scan the code and enter the amount yourself. And the merchant always checks you've entered the correct amount, often taking a picture of your phone as confirmation. Seems in this case the merchant "overlooked" the error.
