  1. Can book the hotel in question in Pattaya from 12-16 April for 2500/night direct from the hotel website.. Phew, that's lucky, must be the last room.
  2. It's on Lazada at THB 5,490.00 and says will go down to THB 4,999.00 in about 8 hours time.
  3. I think you'll have no problems as it's data roaming, including China, that is the main point of these SIMs. And I've certainly used AIS in China with no issues and used Google maps for getting around.
  4. No. Visa Exempt. See https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/vietnam/entry-requirements Visa requirements If you plan to stay in Vietnam for 45 days or fewer, you do not need a visa for: tourism transit business travel – but not paid or voluntary work You must have a visa for longer stays or if you’re entering Vietnam for other reasons.
  5. There is often a hole in which you poke the key in order to take off P and put in N.
  6. In case nobody did this recently, did you already check the Embassy website? Quite good information and not too old (2022). https://phnompenh.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-o-visa-thai-family?page=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a1&menu=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a2 Visa application times Open Monday to Friday, except Embassy holidays. 09:00–11:00 AM document submission (no appointment required) 03:00–04:00 PM visa collection Visa processing times (NOT including day of submission)* 3 working days (NOT include the Day of Submission) for Tourist visas, Non-Immigrant Labour visas for Cambodian migrant workers (for example, if you apply on Monday, you can pick up your passport on Thursday) 5 working days (NOT include the Day of Submission) for other Non-Immigrant visas (for example, if you apply on Monday, you can pick up your passport on the next Monday)
  7. Yes, that is the standard requirement for the e-visa application. But now the Embassy will review the application which is when they can ask for more documents/information. In my case they wanted to see flight tickets originating from the UK ("Flight details showing the applicant’s name, departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand"). With any luck the next thing you'll see is the visa approved email but could be a request for more detail.
  8. Yes, they have cut and pasted from the actual Thai e-visa website. But once the application is submitted there is still the possibility the embassy/consulate will ask for more - I know this happens from 2 actual applications, albeit in the UK. With luck they will have forgotten about that insurance nonsense.
  9. The only problem could be as indicated in your screenshot, that the "relevant embassy/consulate" might some back asking for more things - did you check the Sydney/Canberra websites for their current requirements?
  10. Which is only valid for a relatively short time - 6 months I think. You will need to get a Thai driving licence (which is very easy to do). Car insurance is easy, many providers, can buy online. "MOT" depends on the age of vehicle, 7 years it kicks in I think, but you do need yearly tax (easy also) Service? No problem, many dealers and independent garages for that. Should not be a problem if you are driving legally, but "Travel Insurance"? Doesn't sound like you are "travelling"?
  11. Yes, I also read it as being only something that you may choose to submit in case there is any doubt of his parents. I would think in your case you and his mother both have birth certificates and him too of course, with both of you named on it? The passport application guidance doesn't mention DNA testing at all.
  12. So the answer to your original question is therefore NO. You have entered visa exempt by land twice already.
  13. Everything you need, including the payment form, can be found here; https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/overseas/information/thailand/renew/adult
  14. What about the financial requirements for converting to a single non-O (Marriage) in country?
  15. Likewise Kasikorn. I believe out of province deposit machines also charge, although never used one.
  16. Does it work? If it does there is no need to reinstall it. You will have used data as you cant install the app on WiFi.
  17. Not SCB but I use the Kasikorn app in the UK. I have a True SIM in the phone and roaming enabled but NOT data roaming - that's spoils money incredibly fast. Data is either WiFi or the UK SIM. No problems using the app at all. I would hope/expect that SCB will work similarly. No special amount of credit is needed for enabling roaming, as long as you don't answer the phone or make calls/texts. It will receive text messages free of charge. Presumably the app is up and running on the phone already? I mention this because at least in the case of Kasikorn the initial setup has to be done while connected to data on a Thai cell network, not WiFi.
  18. Well yes of course but I was working on the assumption his gf knows what a gold shop looks like.
  19. The cool function simply evaporates the water and blows it around your room. So inevitably the humidity will increase. Whether it is useful is moot, but they do seem to sell a lot of them here so must be something of value. Personally I am happy with a fan.
