What are my options?

He can't, he's on a retirement "visa" (presumably an extension thereof). -
What are my options?

I guess the obvious answer is to do a border bounce or have a short trip somewhere nice. That'd give you the time you want which could also be easily extended further if needed. -
Good idea, who's?

Renewing UK Passport, Proof of Address
Upnotover replied to pjbkk's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Yes, the quote in the post above is taken from the VFS announcement. -
I've known several people whose move to Thailand happened after their home country wives had died. I'm pretty sure none of them would have appreciated your unnecessary intrusion into their lives.

Renewing UK Passport, Proof of Address
Upnotover replied to pjbkk's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Nope, it's both. GOV.UK could do with updating their site. -
Probably thought that carpet was there to protect the floor.

There seems little consistency in the packages they offer, but all appear to be 4G/5G and whether described as "data" or "internet" seems to make no difference, at least none that I can detect. I'm currently on the 99GB/30 days package., THB299+VAT. It was bought as "Internet" but shows on the app as "Data". Currently showing 19.7 Mbps download speed (4G) which is totally fine for may needs.

Extension based on Retirement
Upnotover replied to BillStrangeOgre's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The admitted until date doesn't change, stay out as long as you like but remember to come back in time to make the next extension or you'll have to start all over again. -
Let's say you check into a hotel for a night/week or whatever. Did any hotel ever give you a TM30 receipt? Whilst they might give you something if you ask for it, it is by no means automatic, which you would imagine it would be if you were legally obliged to have it.

30 days visa extension - flight required?
Upnotover replied to sallecc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In my recent experience, December 2023, Bangkok, No. -
They don't have first class. Business is called "Royal Laurel Class" and whilst it is good it is not first class.

I just did a 2 week hop back to blighty. EK was as ever great on the way there, I had my favourite window seat at the back, the aisle seats take 30% off my enjoyment of those flights for sure. Chauffeur drive seems to have been downgraded somewhat on arrival (it was perfect in BKK). Was a junk VW of some sort at LGW, I thought I had got into a taxi by mistake. Came back EVA, really enjoyed it, apart from LHR T2 but can't blame them for that. Service was exceptional and the first direct flight I've taken in a while made a pleasant change.

Flying from BKK to Zurich - spare baggage allowance
Upnotover replied to QEDDEQ's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Interesting. I don't think I have ever checked in more than 50% of my baggage allowance, normally far less. Never thought of it as a missed opportunity, I guess that's why I'm not rich. -
Return Ticket Within 30 Days Visa Exempt?
Upnotover replied to mel2surf's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is an outside chance it might be a problem at check-in in Vietnam if the airline staff are really awake. It is highly unlikely to be a problem at immigration as they rarely ask for onward flight details. But they can of course, like they can also ask to see 20,000 baht cash and details of accommodation, but usually don't. And no, you can't pay overstay in advance - chances are telling them your plans to convert and extend would get you over the line. -
Return Ticket Within 30 Days Visa Exempt?

March 18 is day 1. Day 30 (when you would have to leave) is April 16. -
It wasn't me touting but yes, I was indirectly making the same point as you. Would be far better for others to compare at least similar things when trying to prove someone has paid too much.
-
Absolutely. Having done the same both before and after bypass surgery I was happy to see that being sawn open did actually achieve something!

Then you choose a different package. Also, if you want the EST as the OP did.
