Retirement visa / UK passport.
ubonjoe replied to james.d's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No When you apply for a extension and your passport has less than 12 months remaining on it your extension will only be issued to day it expires. Then prior to that day you will have to apply for a new extension of stay. -

1.2M Baht in Bank for O-A Visa???
ubonjoe replied to srowndedbyh2o's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is certainly a mistake. As written in earlier posts their is another page that shows the correct 800k baht number. The 1.2 million baht number is for a combination of income and money in the bank to reach 3 million baht for a Non-OX visa. -
1.2M Baht in Bank for O-A Visa???
ubonjoe replied to srowndedbyh2o's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Nothing has changed. The have wanted the proof of $700 for a long time now that is their equivalent of 20,000 baht that is required for all visa applications (other than OA and OX visas). -

Visa based on Thai child
ubonjoe replied to nicelee808's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is correct if married to his child's mother. His child will need to be with him when he applies for the 60 day extension. -
You can apply for a non-o visa based upon retirement or marriage to a Thai at any immigration of office. You will need 800k baht for retirement or 400k baht for marriage on the day you apply for it. No insurance is required for a non-o visa application of extension of stay at immigration. You could also easily apply for a non-o visa based upon marriage that would allow a 90 day entry at a embassy or official consulate.

Retirement NON-O - Delay of Money Transfer
ubonjoe replied to night_rider's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That recently changed to apply for a Non-OA visa at a embassy or official consulate. It is now $100,000 coverage of medical expenses and corvid 19. -
The STV is still shown on the London embassy website on this page. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/requirements-for-foreigners-travelling-to-thailand-during-covid-19-tra?page=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072dd&menu=5f4b6eb3f6ae4b236972c562 You may have to be registered on the e visa site to find the STV listed after signing into it. What you find on the home page may not be up to date or it was left off since it is not available for all the countries the e visa is used by.

STV (2nd edition)
ubonjoe replied to aldriglikvid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As far as I know there were no changes were done to the requirements when the order was extended for a year. You may have to register on the e visa site to find the requirements for the STV. -
You can apply for a a non-o visa at immigration with a visa exempt entry. The 800k baht only has to be in the bank on the day your apply for the visa. Then when you apply for the one year extension of stay based upon regiment during the last 30 day of the 90 day entry the visa allows it will have to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.

A current (aka checking) account will not be accepted. A fixed deposit account will be accepted if it allows you can do withdrawal without a delay or a penalty other than loss of interest by most immigration office. There are few odd offices that will not accept them. A savings account is what most office will expect to see.

Your re-entry permit is valid until 19 March 2022. What is written in Thai above it means nothing now.

1.2M Baht in Bank for O-A Visa???
ubonjoe replied to srowndedbyh2o's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is not going to happen. The 1.2 million number was an error and is a number used for the non-ox visa using income with money in the bank to reach a total of 3 million baht. -
