Single entry TR vs. Exempt entry: pros/cons?
ubonjoe replied to wn78's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The problem is that embassies and consulates do not normally have anything to do with visa exempt entries. Immigration sets the rules for them and embassies are under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For example the 30 day extensions of them have been allowed since 2014 when a new immigration order was issued. The only problem with applying is their requirement to submit a return or onward ticket with the application. If using the e visa site it is even easier now that they are issuing stickerless visas now. No need to mail in your passport and etc since they send you a email for the visa. -

Single entry TR vs. Exempt entry: pros/cons?

It is not correct. Just more incorrect info about visa exempt entries on a embassy website. You can apply for a 30 day extension of a visa exempt entry. They are available now up to November 27th. It is unknown whether they will extend the order for them again. -
The Thai embassy in US has changed their message on this page https://thaiembdc.org/visa_tourist_coe/ U.S. Passport Holders are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days** on each visit or 15-day stays if arriving by land-crossing. Note I scratched out the 15 days at land borders since it was changed to 30 days years ago when they limited the entries to 2 per calendar year at land border crossings. They still show 45 days on another page but it does mention that it was going to expire on September 30th which is what has happened since they did not extend the order.

Visa exemption to ED visa
ubonjoe replied to ryan15987532's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
People have applied for a non-ed visa at immigration. They certainly have not stopped accepting the application. The problem to do the application is that it requires documents to prove they are formal school such a university. But many schools and agents can make arrangement to get them for a informal school such as a language school. -

A return or onward ticket is not required if you have a valid visa to use for entry to the country.

You apparently had a multiple entry non-o visa that allowed unlimited 90 day entries for a year from the date is was issued. Those are not longer being issued in the UK. -
