  1. You would have to apply for a non-o visa at immigration to get a 90 day stay and then apply for the one year extension. The 400k baht only needs to be in the bank on the day you apply for the non-o visa. See: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/6.FOR-PROVIDING-SUPPORT-TO-OR-BEING-A-DEPENDANT-OF-A-THAI-CITIZEN-SPOUSE-VISA-NON-O.pdf
  2. I am aware of that. But I don't bother to mention it since not many people would have a foreign currency account.
  3. Since you are from the US you will get a 30 day visa exempt entry not a 15 day visa on arrival that only a few countries qualify for. You can apply for a non-o visa based upon retirement at immigration and then near the end of the 90 days it allows you can apply for the one year extension. Requirements for the non-o are here. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022C1_09.pdf
  4. It depends upon the type of extension he is getting and what his visa status is. If a tourist visa or visa exempt entry many offices will want proof a TM30 report was done.
  5. The 40k baht is the minimum monthly income immigration will accept. You can show much more than that if if you have proof of the income.
  6. Immigration requires proof of international transfers into a Thai bank for 12 months for a extension application. The rules state 2 or 3 months for the first extension but most offices will not accept them. Prior to the end of 2018 it was possible to do a income affidavit at the US embassy of prove your income but the embassy stopped doing them then.
  7. I think most immigration offices will accept a combination of money in the bank and proof of income tor reach a total of 800k baht. Unless you can get proof of income from your embassy it will more than likely not be possible to use the combination option for the first extension since they will want proof of the income being transferred into a Thai from abroad for 12 months.
  8. Your first report after entering the country will be due 90 days from the day you enter the country. The day you left the country your 90 days were reset to zero and it stayed the same when you entered the country.
  9. 1. Yes 2. You will apply for a one year extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage to a Thai near the end of the 90 day stay in Thailand the non-o will allow. You will need to have 400k baht in a Thai bank in name only for 2 months on the day you apply for the extension of stay. 3. No 4. No need for a translation of your marriage certificate to apply for the non-o visa. 5. The letter can be in Thai and there will be need for it translated to english. 6. You will not need a return or onward ticket since you will have a valid visa to enter the country.
  10. You could apply for a non-o visa and a extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai. If not married to the child's mother you would need to legitimize your parenthood of your child to apply for the extension of stay.
  11. Immigration will not be aware that you moved out of the condo. You will need to do a address change before you apply for your next extension.
  12. You could still do your 90 day reports to the immigration office in Jomtien. A TM30 report is only needed if you change your permanent address.
  13. If you have a tourist visa to use for entry a return or onward ticket is not required. If entering visa exempt by air you can asked for a ticket out of the country within 30 days.
  14. The rule states it is 400k baht in the bank or proof of 40k baht income. You certainly do not need to prove you are working and have income from it. Sometimes it is best just to ignore what a officer says.
  15. Yes they will do a address affidavit that is equal to a certificate of residence.
  16. You would need to have your current work permit and extension of stay canceled when changing employers. Then you could have a new work permit issued and a new extension issued. The new extension could be done on the same day the existing one is canceled.
  17. I think you can ignore that statement. When you do the application online it would not be there. You could put to visit family and friends or such.
  18. You would need to show a bank statement with the equivalent of 20k baht in the account.
  19. If you applied for a multiple entry tourist visa (METV) that is what you would get after paying the fee for it. The embassy in Paris uses the online visa application site. https://thaievisa.go.th/
  20. You could do a border run to get a new visa exempt entry. It will be for 45 days.
  21. You can apply for your extension of stay up 30 days early or 45 days at some offices.
  22. A single entry tourist visa would allow a 60 day stay that can be extended for 30 days at immigration. There is no quarantine now. If fully vaccinated (2 shots) proof of it. If not vaccinated it would require a covid 19 test done at the most 72 hours before departure
  23. He was writing about a non-o visa application done at immigration that requires approval at the district level of immigration. But the passport is not sent there. They give it back to you while waiting for the approval.
