Not a problem since you will have a onward ticket. There is no requirement to have a round trip ticket.

How early can I change my visa category?
ubonjoe replied to Hei Lin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
With a letter from the school stating the date you will no longer attending classes you could change change the reason for your extension to being married to a Thai. You will need all the required for the new extension, -
At the airport you will use both passports. Immigration will only stamp you into the country in your new passport. Then you will need to go to immigration to have your stamps transferred. You will not need a letter from your embassy since your new passport was issued while you were out of the country.

Income Verification From The US Embassy
ubonjoe replied to KhonKaenLive's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will need a year of monthly transfers of at least 65k baht into a Thai bank from abroad to apply for your extension of stay. The US embassy does not do any proof of income. -
Correct But best count 6 days since immigration may include the day your permit to stay ends in it.

If you don't get your passport back go to the police and report it as stolen and tell them the agent has it. Chances are that you will get it back in short order.
