  1. Would be interesting to see how the anchor points are controlled for the different heights in water.
  2. Today, life in a mixed household in Thailand Me-not vaxed Wife-one sinovac Son-not vaxed(12 in a fortnight) Wife's best friend comes to village from Bangkok(double vaxed) Wife treating her like a alien because even though they are both vaxed my wife would have to declare to the school contact with others from outside area and therefore son would be subject to a further two week delay in returning to school. So it seems the vaxed are all not happy with vaxed and government communication.
  3. Rob the work doesn't worry me but the option would be nice. If i hear just get vaxed one more time..... The government has decided they are not concerned with the current unvaxed or antivaxers as they continue to put out spot fires and open the economy leaving a minority hanging in the balance. In six months time i think you have every right to be annoyed but it's premature at this stage.
  4. Are you deaf,i'm in the system waiting my turn. If expats didn't register 10 times in panic on different sites i might have already been done. Seems the kids are taking priority now no thanks to the pro lifers.
  5. Well if covid has taught me anything it's that a lot of vulnerable people who jumped the queue are sitting back going She'll be right Fred,i'm vaxed.C'mon the rest your dragging your heels. There are a lot of people in my situation whom haven't been able to be vaxed yet and in result has cost the chance of gaining employment for two years. The resent from the vaxed is starting to smell quite frankly.
  6. Vaxers v antivaxers. Is that the same as pro lifers v people with a perspective of natural survival of the fittest. When vaccines start being given to the old and vulnerable after health care workers there were a lot of rumbles in the workforce,at least where i was.Obviously things have settled down from those early days but there will always remain a certain proportion who won't let it go.It's natural.
  7. Update, school has just notified us that opening will be put back to the 8th. The government has not responded to their application to start.
  8. Ok i'm ready to buy an EV in Thailand,i walk into the showroom to be greeted by a salesman and a selection of shiny new vehicles. What questions do i ask - Battery range and charging times Registration and insurance costs 24/7 roadside assistance - availability of flatbed trucks or is a normal tow truck suffice. Service costs - is the car IP of manufacturer for life, can i use any qualified garage for work Is the manual in English version, what hours the drivetrain parts should achieve Will you trade on new models Can i use non OEM parts Will there be fee's for disposal of old parts. At what age are regular pit inspections required for license Anything else?
  9. I am not vaxed yet, still waiting on the expatvac list. The way things are going most will be booster treated before i get my 1st shot. So when i finally get it,am i better or worse off having the other shots up my sleeve for the future.
  10. My sons computer(itsonas) doing the same with realtek(windows10). Started off losing volume with google watching youtube so switched to firefox but that has now stopped as well. What to do,delete realtek and reinstall?
  11. A few years a go there was a bloke called Bill Shorten who was going to change the world. It didn't end well for him. I've made my worth in the mining industry,it's no surprise that a lot of major companies are head office based in Green countries and the dirty work done elsewhere. Also time must be taken to get it right as everyone still wants food on the table. It's a big picture.
  12. Hi Bandersnatch, Have you done any amount of driving in the rain and through pools of water yet.
  13. I'm sorry if you think i was trolling,i was adding my personal experience and thoughts. I have no interest in solar,i do have an interest in the progression of electric vehicles.
  14. I recently had a drone out to do some work. 20kg payload and i thought it performed to about 60% of what manufacturer stated. The battery tech has improved but still a fair way off so it's a rich man's toy for a few more years yet. Personally i will review the cars in 10 years time when my ice vehicle is due for replacement.
  15. Thought i'd share my 17 year journey here. Was 33 and 1st outlay was about 30,000 baht, those were happy days. The original house still stands expanded in the background. Built the new one to entice my father to come and live with us,sadly he found it to hard and went home after 3 months. The locals wouldn't even live out here when i came but civilization is closing in at a rapid pace.
  16. Hi darbyman In my area west of Khon Kaen i haven't seen any Durian farms,a few friends have planted a couple of trees to see how they go. I found this article with a few figures in it. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/264979282_Adoption_of_Good_Agricultural_Practices_by_Durian_Farmers_in_Koh_Samui_District_Surat_Thani_Province_Thailand I presume you've made the move here now and enjoying it. A few years a go you were asking about a harvester, may i ask how you got on?
  17. My sons school in Chumphae is opening 1st November. It's a primary school but have been allocated 45 vaccinations. 13 of those students have chosen not to take it. When my wife asked if my son could have one of the leftovers(turns 12 on 9th November, jabs will be given on the 12th)it was declined. Yet they weren't backwards in coming forwards for the term fees.
  18. Well as a positive you may get some respite from the music when the the monks are doing there chanting at the house opening.????
  19. What's the ratio of land purchase price and house build or was land for free.
  20. Vinegar is one of the main ingredients in Organic weedkiller. Might be an old wifes tale,my mum used to put clear plastic bottles full of water out in a row to keep the cats away.
  21. Above is the Weedol ingredients. 2-4D @ 160 baht/litre would be your cheapest non selective broadleaf chemical option and readily available in most Ag shops. If you want to take out species of different grass then you will need to identify the unwanted plants and use a selective herbicide(more expensive) which is a little more complicated. If i had lawn here i would use chemical for the broadleaf weeds and hand pick the others. Each to there own depending on size of area and appearance required.
  22. Which delisted free agent would you take? In Norf's case our 4th pick in the draft is very high forties. Personally i would for go it for maybe a Brander(eagles),Naish(tigers),Constable(cats),Duman(dockers)and many others instead. What would you do and if who?.
  23. Thanks KS. It's become a lot clearer now with your explanation. My wife has a farm number book(similar to blue tabien) from local ag office which is linked to her Baac account as she received a payment back around December into her account. She just checked on phone and looks like auto updated for this year. I think i will do a trip to local ag office next time when i pass just to clarify the payment system. Whether it's a straight out meet the highest quality/moisture or a sliding matrix scale. If it's only the 1st criteria could be worth an extra 60-80K/baht in the pocket. Sometimes i have to prod my wife with information to jog her memory when it comes to farm details and your assistance has helped do that and give her an understanding on why i do things differently at times, i normally get a response of Nobody do ???? which is fine if you don't have the ability to handle larger volumes to value add.
