  1. private pensions are in effect long term savings with rules as to how the money is released, I chose to take it spread since aged 50, i am not old enough for state pension in the uk but i would interpret that as long term savings also, paying into a fund over time - granted not all countries are the same ,, i have no clue how it works anywhere
  2. needs some clarity but overall looks positive, private or state pensions would be money accumulated while working seems to be exempt as does money deposited in foreign bank accounts (excluding interest earned), that would be my interpretation
  3. the problem I see here is the economic scales are so different between 3rd world Thailand and the west - from minimum wage - tax thresholds - salaries etc, they are not equal not even close. If I start to pay tax in Thailand what do I get in return ? They can't even tax their own citizens as pointed out earlier in this thread, only about 5% of the working population pay income tax, that's a huge number not paying income tax.
  4. I wonder how many Thais in Thailand don't pay income-tax, pretty much every Thai I know or have known DO NOT declare income to the RD
  5. just wondering if you have skin in the game regarding tax issues such as finance or legal, thanks
  6. can I ask you a question Mike do you have business interests in Thailand and if so please provide details
  7. this whole story makes no sense, sounds like the Thai version of events orders bolt car then ends up on a motorbike taxi with bolt driver following for bt100, then the missing bt10,000, sounds like a shakedown that went bad
  8. so you have no income in the UK is that what you are saying ?
  9. how can they shed light on something the revenue department haven't explained
  10. and that the van just “swerved unexpectedly” entirely on its own while exiting the alley, causing it to overturn typical Thai response - blame anything other than himself
  11. be very interesting to see if the original coalition parties jump ship back to MFP, they are free to do so and would end the current house majority shafting PT, remember who won the election
  12. unelected senators interfering again, the one area that needs the most amending - the senate
  13. only fixes when already in forum links, email url still requires a reload - the page just times out unless you stop it and reload it - it then loads instantly, so to load a page from an email link requires 3x actions, click the url in the email - click the X (stop) in the browser - then click the Refresh button, only after doing this will the forum page open - this is 100% of the time
  14. I don't agree
  15. everybody and their dog knew this, why where the charges persued and not immediately dismissed, there should now be an investigation into why they were not dropped immediately, the shares we also not directly held as they were part of an inheritance still to be settled through probate, shameful
  16. it may have something to do with trackers, from MS The tracking prevention feature in Microsoft Edge protects users from online tracking by restricting the ability of trackers to access browser-based storage as well as the network. The tracking prevention feature is built to uphold the Microsoft Edge browser privacy promise, while also ensuring that there is no impact by default to website compatibility or the economic viability of the web. mine is set to balanced, there are 2 other options - basic and strict or of course 'OFF' when I select "off" for aseannow it seems to fix the issue
