  1. Spreading my wings, got out of Pattaya central. Wombat & Kiwi Bar doing well in Jomtien (corner of beach rd and soi 9). Like all Aussie bars, ice cold beer. Also good food. Only opened Oct 21, so proof new bars can do well in Pattaya ????
  2. Only the first time you need to queue up and go in the building. Other 3 times are all done at the tent at the front. Very quick but still a pain having to come from Pattaya in this heat...must be getting old ????
  3. I only go to Jomtien for immigration but I started having breakfast first. I think it's called Paddy's bar, 125 baht for full English with coffee. Sausage much better than I get in central Pattaya I get off Pattaya baht bus at the corner where the bus turns towards the beach and go back 20 metres. It's an aircon English/Irish style pub
  4. I haven't received any condo tax notice this year. Are they being issued?
  5. I have an under consideration stamp until 31 March and IO told me to come back on 31. I went to Jomtien Imm at 0930 today 29 as I didn't want to wait until last day. They took my passport and said come back 2pm tomorrow. Good thing I didn't wait until last day as I could have been on overstay. So that will be 4 trips to immigration to get the covid extension. Talk about dragging out the process ????
  6. Going by the graph, the plane reached 590 knots just before it started to climb again. No matter what caused the initial dive, pulling out of a 30,000 feet per minute dive to start gaining altitude at 590 knots must have nearly torn the plane apart.... so no wonder it went into a 2nd dive shortly after Note: B737-800 rated max speed is supposed to be 522 knots
  7. You have to stop banging on about 6000m in 1 min = 360 km/h as fact. It has been pointed out many times that planes send live data and this shows aircraft reached 590 knots at one point (approx 1090 km/h) Here is the actual data with yellow line showing the varying speed. Grey line shows the varying descent rate in feet per minute https://www.flightradar24.com/blog/china-eastern-airlines-flight-5735-crashes-en-route-to-guangzhou/
  8. They just found the Flight Data Recorder (FDR). Wow, it was 1.5m underground https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-finds-second-black-box-crashed-plane-state-media-2022-03-27/
  9. Just to clear up the number of B737-800 crashes, the 13 mentioned are accidents with fatalities, and 2 of those were B737-700 (1 of which was an emergency landing, not a crash) Of the 11 B737-800, one was shot down by Iran, one was a mid-air collision, 2 overshot the runway, 1 undershot the runway and 1 skidded off the runway so that leaves 5 'others' There are also 8 other B737-800 accidents with no fatalities, 3 overran runway, 1 undershot the runway and 3 skidded off the runway and 1 pilot landed on his nose wheel which collapsed IMO, that's a pretty good safety record for over 7000 aircraft over 25 years https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_accidents_and_incidents_involving_the_Boeing_737
  10. Reports posted where? The only one I see posting these 'reports' is you without any source of where you got the info?
  11. Please quote me where I have ever "slagged off any poster for obtaining covid extensions". You make this <deleted> up in your head. Defamation at its best just because what I say doesn't agree with your narrative.
  12. An OP of a thread asked do you think covid extensions will be extended past 25 March, I posted my response that I didn't think it would be due to most countries now being open without restrictions. Since then you've constantly attacked me as an anti covid extension poster when all I did is answer the OP with my opinion as they asked. I couldn't care less if covid extensions were granted or not. They are easily available so I will use them, doesn't mean it makes sense
  13. Not S.A about it. Someone translated order to say they will be more strict, I admitted my covid extension had nothing to do with covid so won't apply again, especially as covid in Australia is no longer a pandemic post 17 April Life is too short to stress over visa requirements...
  14. So I guess that's me out for a May covid extension used to bypass transferring 800k baht for an imm O and retirement extension ???? Pretty hard to tick 1st box on affadavit since my destination is Australia, which has just announced: "Following medical advice, the Biosecurity Emergency Determination relating to COVID-19 for Australia will not be renewed when it lapses on April 17" https://www.health.gov.au/ministers/the-hon-greg-hunt-mp/media/australias-biosecurity-emergency-pandemic-measures-to-end
  15. With my covid extension I will be in Thailand for 120 days (maybe 180 days). Are we required to comply with the 90 day reporting or is that only for a formal long term visa? The immigration link below seems to say anyone staying over 90 days in Thailand must report or be fined 2000 baht? https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/90days-report/
  16. OP says he's on a 60 day covid extension, doesn't the granting of a new extension reset the 90 day clock?
  17. Wise just became useless to me as you can't transfer more than 50,000 baht to Krungsi Bank (only to the 3 banks listed in the Wise pop-up below)
  18. There is no such option. It says something like "covid is ongoing in own country and entry not allowed,"
  19. Only valid point you've made, you're on ignore as suggested
  20. Quote me where I "bang on in threads about folk should not be obtaining covid extensions". All I said in this thread is that I don't think it will be extended post March 25 as most countries are open. You are the one taking that as a personal attack for some reason, seems like because you think covid extensions are there to replace land border runs
  21. They kept that pretty quiet. I walk the Pattaya beach to beer garden every morning and never saw anything. I always loved this place ????
  22. Simple, because it was available without any scrutiny of the lie that I can't return to my home country. Saved me transferring 800k baht at an unfavorable exchange rate in February to get the Imm O (saved over 45,000 baht)
  23. Now that Vietnam is fully open with just an ATK required 24 hours before flight, can I just leave Thailand with an under consideration covid stamp? I was told to go back 31 March for another 30 days but don't need it now.
