  1. JTS: If the seller is decent guy, there is nothing wrong with going to the sellers DLT with the bikes and getting them to help you to complete the papers, checking all the tax is up to date - getting the sellers DLT to phone ahead to your DLT to make sure everything is ready. I did this the first time, because the guy hadn't paid the tax for 2 years. When I sold the bikes, I had just had enough of the whole process. Multiple people offering me half of the already decent price I posted online and this guy, wanting extra bits for free, pressured me into selling my second bike as a package, which I had no intention of at the start. I couldn't be bothered to be nice about it.
  2. I just sold a couple of bikes, Im in Khon Kaen, the buyer, a a Thai in Udon. I went to my local DLT - grabbed the forms, one (set) for each bike, completed and signed, and handed them over to the seller. You may need a certificate of residence from the seller but I didn't bother - I copied my passport data page, visa stamp, entry stamp and told him to come back if there was any issue. He didnt come back (It is all dependent on the province to wether or not one is required) I bought one of the bikes from Roi-Et, 7 years prior. I bought from a Westerner, but the bike was registered in his wifes name, she copied her ID card and supplied the forms, as above. You will need to take the bike to your DLT and check everything, it will cost a little more as you will need to register it in your province and get a new plate.
  3. Looks like both those borders are making life difficult at the moment. It may be worth a look at Sadao, or Nathawi.
  4. Just came to say .. f’d up. Just started on this .. maybe interesting, Channel 5 seem to produce some good dramas these days.
  5. This is not exclusive to Pattaya, I have also had a similar experience with a knife sharpening guy.
  6. If it were some girl selling beer without a license on the street I don’t think it would have got as far as the police, would it?
  7. There’s something that doesn’t add up - I can’t see any of the bars allowing anyone to sell beer (how much money can you make from a cool box of beers before you get a slap?) in the middle of the street. This has to be some promotion girl who has taken the initiative of standing behind a box at the entrance to a bar or something. Anyway, what do I know or care?
  8. Or when you driving while disqualified, points deducted from the next license when the license is returned. I can see this being abused by the Bib - like the cost of the fine is multiplied by the number of points you have accumulated - when you get caught with breaking the law with 9 points under your belt, they get the double bubble Brucie bonus. You can just imagine the reaction from behind the mask and sunglasses .. “mmmm, what do points make? Points make prizes!”
  9. This is really well done, thanks for posting. An interesting 30 mins. There was a 5 min segment on Vice News last week on the koh-i-noor
  10. Ok - presumed you were using a windows machine or a android box. I too have a Mac, so can replicate - I just downloaded their app from the App Store, even tho the assistant app said I had an overseas ip, at first it wasn’t masking my IP at all and I was getting a geolock from iplayer. I went to settings, VPN > Protocol - I changed it from UDP to TCP, I couldn’t even access the site. Back to UDP, reconnecting to the VPN, opening and closing Firefox > I got the same error as you. I turned on clearweb toggle in VPN preferences and set it to wireguard, rebooted the computer and it connected first attempt. I think I was using the Glasgow server. I started watching, no problems - then after a while the player started jumping between streams, 720 > SD > low res .. When I connect with my Amazon fireTV, there is never a problem, but I can see it jumping between streams. It will work, but it’s a ballache on a Mac - I don’t think I would bother. PIA is a little more expensive, but has a dedicated video streaming server and just works on the mac, no need to reboot. The worst thing I need to do is close Firefox and sometimes change protocol back and forth.
  11. Interesting .. “Coffee drinkers do seem to live longer and have lower cancer rates overall, but coffee may worsen acid reflux disease, bone loss, glaucoma, and urinary incontinence. The bottom line is that I don’t recommend drinking coffee, but mainly because every cup of coffee is a lost opportunity to drink something even more healthful, such as a cup of green tea, which wouldn’t have the adverse cholesterol consequences.”
  12. No need to change time - you are using a computer? So, you are using their app to connect? Install Firefox (although brave probably has this function) - go to settings / preferences and set to “erase cookies on close” (I forget the actual term) - close the app. (This is why I use Firefox exclusively for TV, then I don’t lose all my cookies with saved logins) Open your browser and log in to iplayer. Let me know if it doesn’t work.
  13. There is nothing wrong with using surfshark to access iplayer - If you want some help, then post some info, how are you using it? what device? Some settings? .. I have no issues using surfshark + surfshark VPN app on my fireTV stick - its cheap and easy. Only when I look at the video streams on my computer and comparing them to other servers do I notice surfsharks weaknesses, but it should work.
  14. lol - I am still a little wary, about the old stomach. Old habits die hard, I think I will move to black soon, because I feel like it spoils the natural fruitiness of the beans.
  15. Yes, for sure its the quality. I started with a Moka Pot with Illy Decaf grounds - There is a technique there, I often got a burnt taste, used a lot of coffee and got a small cup, along with melting a couple of handles. I am glad I was encouraged to use the clever dripper, I was told the paper would absorb the caffeine (?) - my only experience of filter is stewed hotel coffee. I enjoy the taste, a lot lighter and fruitier, and quite enjoy the experience and routine, although I need to get an electric grinder.
  16. Yes. I gave up for caffeinated coffee for 5 years. When working full time from home, I used to drink around 6 cups of Nescafe instant during the morning, then developed acid reflux - the doctor, who turned out to be pretty useless, told me to stop the caffeine and gave me some medication. I did knock the Nescafe on the head (which was my only sin, dont drink, gave up smoking years ago), did my own research and managed to control the acid reflux, and dropped the pills. I did stop for the occasional cappuccino in amazon, and found it to be very strong and made my head spin, but other than that, no bad effect. (I was told that Amazon use Robusta beans?) I was still drinking 1-2 cups of rancid decaf from Dow Egberts decaf (expensive). The acid reflux vanished. (No ideas what caused the reflux, but it was an intense pain during the night) - I just put it down to the only thing I dropped and that was coffee. Recently, I was prompted to try some filter coffee, we have a couple of good roasters in Khon Kaen, and is a shame to miss out. I bought a 'clever dripper' a burr grinder and a couple of bags of arabica beans. I feel no different from the times when I was drinking the decaf or when my body was happy to drink 6-8 cups of Nescafe. I now enjoy two no more than two cups of decent coffee (with milk and sugar) - a much more enjoyable experience than any instant. But other than that, no noticeable health benefits to giving up coffee.
  17. This looks interesting - Fire of Love https://youtu.be/-_7XADmKVL0 Also the Bowie movie to catch up on https://youtu.be/QUvjaPIEIBs
  18. Sunday night movie - Barbarian interesting / quirky - indie horror / thriller - written and directed by Zach Cregger, the same guy who directed the Sasquatch documentary on Hulu. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt15791034/ 7.1 on IMDb - a bit of a marmite movie - not bad, not amazing - a good start, Interesting first act - quite drawn out - I thought it was going to be a bit like the first [Rec] but not. Worth a look if you like that kind of thing.
  19. Never been there but I was recommended this place, owned by a westerner. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g2237345-d3224394-Reviews-Siam_Garden_Bungalows_and_Camping-Thung_Chang_Nan_Province.html
  20. Yes .. I enjoyed that one .. We haven’t had any contributions from @sanuk711 for a while. I saw there was a second series of hope street being shown.
  21. You could replace that computer with a raspberry pi running OpenVPN, leave it plugged it into his router, then log into the created VPN rather than use teamviewer. https://youtu.be/rtUl7BfCNMY I don’t know how much a pi is these days, $50-$99 - that would be a one off payment instead of a monthly payment.
  22. And when you say, any problems? And they just smile and say no, nothing to worry about .. is it a filling then? When they keep on taking your money, saying they don’t know about specialist dental hospitals but that they have a visiting specialist once a week. Who really knows who is qualified for what in this country? Everyone is entitled to do whatever they want, I was just agreeing with the other poster who said he would rather not go a roadside clinic.
  23. I guess Zoom / LINE / wechat all video communication platforms must harvest this data too.
  24. Correct. I went to local clinics for years - most were just a receptionist and the dentist was upstairs sleeping and would come and do some work and send me on my way - periodic cleaning for 1000B, the odd filling for 600-1000B. They all seemed great, clean, competent, decent level of English. Then I went to a proper dental hospital and regretted the past 20 years of Thai soi-dental care - first thing, I was off to the in-house x-ray dept. Next i'm looking in a dictionary to find out what a periodontist is, the periodontist told me about orthodontic work that was carried out when I was a teenager wasn't the best .. and showed me why. I was blown away. If you are in Pattaya, take a day trip to bangers and go to Chula Dental Hospital, or any other real dental hospital.
  25. They gave an option at the end - the presenter also suggested in the show notes that "Proton" was a trusted VPN - Proton also offer a free secure email service. Your data is being sold anyway whatever you do, but it doesn't hurt to be aware - If you use Facebook, gmail, Spotify ( how about collecting your choice of music and correlating to your websurfing habits, for me, that's scary enough that I don't use a music streaming service), free VPNs, cheap cloud storage that comes with your security camera, free pirate video streaming services all monitor your data - then its just another channel, even the Chinese company that I work for monitors my facial responses and vocal output. Why do we trust them? because we need to use their service and we are told by them that they are a tool to trust, we need the VPN to access geolocked content - Maybe use a VPN with an app that allows the VPN to be switched on and off and a personal firewall to monitor outgoing calls. Maybe not a good idea to use a systemwide VPN on your router.
