Sri Racha Road Accident Kills Two Foreigners on Motorbike
gargamon replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I didn't know some roads in Thailand had a minimum CC limit. Is this a new thing? The Philippines has a 400cc min on some highways. A major reason I spent 10 years in the Philippines. -
Are SD cards more reliable than USB flash drives?

Buy better usb sticks. The cheap ones don't last long sometimes. -
https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2023/06/22/hunter-biden-got-special-treatment-especially-harsh-00103184 Tuesday's announcement that Hunter Biden, the president’s son, agreed to plead guilty to federal tax and firearm crimes drew widespread criticism from Republicans, who slammed it as a “sweetheart deal.” Actually, Biden was treated harshly and — based on what we know publicly — received more severe treatment than a typical defendant. The announcement of the charges by United States Attorney for Delaware David Weiss, a Trump appointee, should have been cause for celebration for anyone who believes in the rule of law. After all, although our system is imperfect, the fact that the son of the sitting president was investigated, prosecuted and convicted by the Justice Department demonstrates that no one is above the law. Yet Republicans recoiled at the announcement, perhaps because Hunter Biden was accused in right-wing publications of everything from corruption to human trafficking, yet was only charged with two misdemeanor tax counts of failure to pay income tax and one count of possessing a firearm while a user of and addicted to a controlled substance. You don’t have to be a lawyer to figure out that these are hardly the crimes of the century. Many critics have pointed out that Biden will almost certainly not receive prison time as a result of these charges, which is true. But while we don’t know what else he might have done — and as Weiss noted, the “investigation is ongoing” — if this is the extent of Biden’s wrongdoing, he has been treated much more harshly than the typical defendant.

Are you sure this is the market referenced? The poster who pointed out the sattahip said it was open Thursdays. According to your google maps link this market is not open Thursdays. Lucky I didn't drive down there. A bit of searching found this one: https://www.google.com/maps/place/700+Rai+Market/@12.6979328,100.8892201,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x31028e9e251021fb:0x27ddf3124b1d52ae!8m2!3d12.6979328!4d100.8892201!16s%2Fg%2F11bcdhytx3?entry=ttu At least it's open Thursdays (and Saturdays)., Quit a bit farther away from Pattaya though.

Install Linux on it. Problem solved if it was windows related. Linux requires significantly less computing resources to do the same thing. Or to just try it out get a live cd version of linux mint or similar, install it on a USB stick and boot from it to see how it works.

Watched the first episode last night. Had I known it was Marvel based I wouldn't have posted it. That said, it wasn't as cheesy as the latest marvel nonsense, more like a regular sci-fi action series. I will watch the next episode when it comes out. -

Wow. Big planes. 500,000/50 = 10,000 passengers on each one. -
If you're traveling around a lot then you have probably got the right answer. I do a couple of trips to Canada a year and bring a substantial amount of stuff each time. I use 1 suitcase and one double walled cardboard box to carry my stuff. The box is wrapped totally in packing tape, and usually discarded after each trip as I usually don't take much to Canada. You would have to check your airline for size/weight limits. If you're in North America home Depot has some good double walled boxes for a few dollars.

I'd bet real money that he never does that again. -
I rented a Camry a couple of months ago for about $200 a week. You do the math.

Yes, of course. In all my claims I never paid for damage at the conclusion of the investigation by the credit card company. There is a temporary hold on the funds but who cares about that. For example, the chipped window incident I referenced, there was a hold for about $200 on my card. After resolution, the credit card company paid them $25 and the hold was cancelled.

I rent cars quite frequently and always refuse the insurance. I have had a number of claims, mostly for things like chipped windows, unnoticed when I picked up the car scratches, door damage from other cars while parked, etc. The rental companies are thieves. To fix a chipped window they will charge a couple of hundred dollars when the actual repair is $25. The suitcase scrapes in the paint in the trunk(boot) is another big scam. Fail to note it in your inspection and you will pay for the last guy's damage. The credit card insurance is great. They make the rental companies show actual costs for the repairs and only pay that amount. This causes the resolution to be a bit slow which is where most people's complaints lie. I would never buy the insurance from the rental company thieves.
