K9 heroes: Police dogs rescue missing toddler in Chiang Mai
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Well done those dogs. ???? -
You are not kidding either. I went to put some money into long term savings accounts a while back and I just did not understand the logic. In one account, up to 100,000 baht was 1.1%. 100,000 to 2,000,000 was .5%. Greater than 50,000,000 - .25% and the more you put in, the lower the %age. Another account, the longer you left the money in, the lower the %age. What is the point?

Another TM30 question
Tropicalevo replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It depends on your local immigration office. The last TM 30 address should be the same as the address for your visa. People here on Samui have had extensions refused because their TM 30 address was not up to date. Some have been 'invited' to go to the immigration office because the TM 30 was either absent or not current. Whenever I return from another province, I always update my TM 30. It is a small effort and it saves hassles. That way, everything matches. TM 30, TM 90, Visa, work permit etc. -

I won't wear a helmet, makes me look stupid
Tropicalevo replied to scubascuba3's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
There are 100,000's of people in Thailand who do not have access to public transport and cannot afford over-priced taxis or a car for their transport needs. What is your magical solution to their problem oh wise one? -
Justice whispers: Thaksin’s sentence may shrink yet
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Why is this news? In a country where :- Any democratic government is overthrown (or infiltrated) by the military Election promised are broken in weeks Blatant vote buying is almost compulsory (10,000 baht per citizen?) Politicians regularly 'borrow' watches from dead friends A convicted cop killer regularly flies around the world in a private jet attending F1 races A convicted drug smuggler becomes an MP and sits in government Yet an MP from a newly formed party is prosecuted for telling people that a really good beer is brewed in his constituency.- 24 replies

I won't wear a helmet, makes me look stupid
Tropicalevo replied to scubascuba3's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
I do not want to belittle the OP's message, and I have been riding bikes for more than 50 years. 23 of them here in Thailand. I always wear a proper Shark brand helmet. However, I was tempted to buy one of these in the video. 3'.10 or 0'.56 -

Only if you ride a bike and want to live. -
I am Rh O negative and have donated blood all of my life. Unfortunately, as the nurse told me when I last donated, 'this will be the last time for you - you will be 70 next month.' To everyone, I do encourage you all to donate blood. It is a life saver and costs you nothing except a bit of time. ????

Phuket tuk tuk driver shooting sparks alarm in bustling tourist hub
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Official numbers for gun ownership were over 10 million guns are known to be owned in Thailand. That is approximately 1 in 10 people own a gun legally registered and 15 in 100 people including illegal gun ownership. Unofficial estimates are that there are closer to 17 million guns in Thailand. (I cannot find that link again - sorry.) -

Vietnam Trip For 1 Month.......Recommendations?
Tropicalevo replied to Troy Tempest's topic in General Topics
The water puppet show is a must do. Unique. A car in the cities will be a challenge. Good luck. Hanoi is my favourite break away from Thailand. -
Poor thing. Probably swimming around in circles until it was too tired.

Standard practice when the military illegally kicks out a democratically elected anti-military PM. They think that it justifies the coup.

???????? Definitely.
