  1. Don't be ridiculous. Don't shout "Get the f*** off" at innocent women who were sitting quietly, don't kick them, don't have your wife threaten to shoot them, don't act like an entitled idiot when given the chance for a mutual apology and to both walk away. Don't do those things and the Thais leave you alone. I've never once shouted at a random woman aggressively, never kicked one, never threatened to shoot one, never tried to bully one. Weirdly no Thais have "come after me", none of my rights have been infringed. I wonder why?
  2. I know you're not keen on women, but have you seen the video?? They're sitting there quietly chatting to themselves. No "chatting loudly", no drinking, no playing music, no "bunch of Thais". Victim blaming is ugly, especially when it was a man being the aggressor against a woman.
  3. Yep, you are correct, it is AN bar stool nonsense. I have been in two crashes here: one was a drunk Thai who smashed in to me at very high speed (I was stationary waiting to turn in to a side road). He tried to blame me saying I was not indicating and that I had no lights on. Well yeah by the time the police showed up (remarkably quickly) I had no working lights as my car was a crumpled mess. The police took my side. Second time was, embarrassingly and shamefully, my fault. Quite a big hit to a taxi whose car would need to be off the road for repairs. Again the police treated me incredibly fairly and politely. I am sure my trite and apologetic demeanour helped. And the taxi driver refused all my attempts to pay him compensation, it was very humbling. And like you I have never paid the police for an offence I haven't been guilty of committing (speeding, U-turning where I shouldn't etc). I have never once in 30 years driving here been asked for a bribe for a made up offence.
  4. Plenty of places to get these in Thailand.
  5. It could have been settled there and then without police when she offered to both mutually apologise and walk away. He refused as he thought he could bully her because he's a "big man". He picked the wrong woman to try to bully. Good on her, he's a coward. If only he'd allowed the mutual apology none of this would ever have happened - he only has himself to blame and so he deserves everything he gets.
  6. Now I wish they had kept you in that cell for longer.
  7. Serial killers don't get sent home in the morning with a 10,000 slap on the wrist. You are sounding ridiculous.
  8. This is the correct answer.
  9. You do realise the irony? People being deported for expressing opinions. Pretty sure it is not "the libs" ordering that.
  10. What are you talking about? I haven't said you protested about anything. I'm talking to anotherexpat4444. I haven't got a clue what you have to do with anything, so please move along.
  11. So up in Heaven God is OK with you fishing and killing things? Really? I thought he/she loved all his/her creatures? Why should you get to sit around killing them?
  12. I know you are but what am I? That is the extent of your argument. I was asking him if he advocates a similar approach to Thailand where, I assume, he lives. You can't wish one rule for your own country and hypocritically not want it for where you live. So please allow him to answer the question.
  13. Another new member posting inane rubbish - who'd have thought? Must just be a coincidence.
  14. So "if you don't like it here, leave". Do you advocate that same line of thought here?
  15. Yes, forgot, let me add that to the list: China is also ahead in non-nuclear hydrogen bomb 1,000 degree fireball unleashing technology.
  16. Protesting Israel's bombardment is not supporting a terrorist organisation, it is just protesting a brutal onslaught that has killed thousands of civilians. You can be against that and also not support terrorism you know. Guess what? I don't like the slaughter of civilians or the wholesale destruction of towns, but I am also against terrorism. The Hamas attack on October 7th was horrendous and gruesome in the extreme. Israel's response has been horrendous, disproportionate and gruesome in the extreme. See? It's not hard, we can condemn both if we are not blinkered by prejudice. Why is a protest against Israeli military behaviour automatically supporting terrorism? It is such a childish and ridiculous thing to say.
  17. Is that all you have? So the facts are irrelevant? It's not an opinion piece. It was reporting a year long study by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. You can look it up yourself if you dispute any of the findings, it is there on the internet. But of course you would rather just put your fingers in your ears and believe the anti-China propaganda that is prevalent. Definitely don't consider asking questions, researching or having a discussion, just point at the messenger and laugh - that'll get you far. Up to you.
  18. Question: should international students have the right to protest foreign government violence against civilians that has been condemned by the UN?
  19. ...and their cars. And their high speed trains (which are light years ahead of American ones), their infrastructure, their space station, their computers, their bridges (unlike American ones which tend to fall down), their AI, their military, their synthetic biology, nanoscale materials, advanced communication technologies etc etc. You do need to read stuff that doesn't originate from Trump's mouth occasionally, you may be surprised. Or, shock horror, maybe even go to China and see for yourself how far advanced it is compared to the US. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/mar/02/china-leading-us-in-technology-race-in-all-but-a-few-fields-thinktank-finds
  20. Why don't you ask the person I was replying to who said The State Department should monitor your social media and revoke your visa if they don't like your opinions. His name is riclag, feel free to contact him directly.
  21. So you advocate deportation for opinions? Having thought police is acceptable now? Can you even hear yourself?
  22. No online application for the UK if you live in Thailand.
  23. Not really. Sometimes something is just so incredibly stupid that you just want to register that and either don't have time - or patience - to engage with that person as you know it would be pointless. I certainly don't have time to write a response to every stupid comment, but I want to register that I think it's stupid. Much in the same way you can give a thumbs up or a smiley but you don't respond to every single post to say how much you like it or how much you agree with it. What's the difference?? Can't have one without the other. Upvotes, downvotes, they are all good.
  24. What should we have instead? "Love", "Like", "Group Hug", "Kumbaya"? Let's also not allow negative comments or disagreements. People need to grow thicker skins, I am astounded how many people here get upset by emojis.
  25. Many children in this thread get upset at them unbelievably.
