Musk calls Trump’s big tax break bill a ‘disgusting abomination'
josephbloggs replied to BLMFem's topic in Political Soapbox
It's disgraceful that something so huge and wide reaching would be passed by people who didn't even read it. It just shows it really is a cult. Coupled with late night submissions designed so people wouldn't have time to go through them, it's pretty disgraceful. Yet the monkeys still clapped and voted for it. Then afterwards went "Oops". Here's one genius who only read it after she voted for it: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/03/marjorie-taylor-greene-trump-tax-bill “Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278-279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years,” Greene wrote on X. “I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.” Democratic lawmakers, who all voted against the bill, responded with incredulity to Greene’s admission. “You have one job. To. Read. The. F****g. Bill,” Representative Eric Swalwell wrote in response. Representative Ted Lieu said he had read the AI provision beforehand and “that’s one reason I voted no on the GOP’s big, ugly bill”, he posted on X. “PRO TIP: It’s helpful to read stuff before voting on it.” Representative Mark Pocan was more forward: “Read the f****g bill instead of clapping for it like a performing monkey. You should have done your job while it was written. You didn’t. You own that vote.” United States of America. R.I.P. You won't be missed by many. -
Has Thailand ever colonised Pakisatan? Did Thailand actively recruit Pakistanis in the 40s and 50s for the NHS and steel, textile and engineering industries? The Pakistani immigration officers you see are actually British people - no Pakistani. British born, British raised, and more than likely at least third generation Brits.

Was it brown?

Nope, not broke, I am doing fine thank you. I just don't feel the need to brag to a bunch of strangers - I find that absolutely pathetic. Why would I ever want to show my bank balance to anyone? No-one needs to know it except me. Does it make you feel big? Sad sad sad.

You're equating criticism of Israel and criticism of the siege and oppression of Gaza as "anti-semitism". She has never explicitly called for the destruction of Israel, only for them to end their siege of, and oppression of, the Palestinian people. You read in to things what you like, that's fine. But jumping to an anti Semitism stance when anyone dares to criticise what is going on and you soon lose credibility.

The is the biggest loser post I have ever seen on here. Ever. Showing off your assets (even if true) to bunch of people on an anonymous forum. What a loser. Sad sad sad.

There isn't an issue. If you haven't been due to do a 90 day report since you landed then you don't need one, only a TM30. However if you have been here over 90 days they will likely ask for a report. I have done two CoRs in the last four months. First one I had been less than 90 days in the country since my last entry so wasn't asked for a 90 day report. For the other one I had been here 95 days and I was asked for a 90 day report.
-
Didn't you just say you don't deflect? Whataboutwhataboutwhatabout.

I got a CoR a couple of weeks ago for a car sale. No 90 day report but a TM 30. However it was 95 days since my last entry so when I handed over the documents she asked where my 90 day report was. I told her I didn't have one but had an appointment an hour from then to do it (I was doing both CoR and 90 days on the same day). She said don't worry about that, went to the 90 day report desk (three desks away) and told them not to call my number, then she did my 90 day report as well as my CoE. Nice lady. But as others have said if your 90 days is not due then you only need a TM30.

The last person in that role was Bill Braniff, an army veteran with 20 years of anti terrorism experience. He resigned after doge cut 20% of his staff. Does that answer your question? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/terrorism-prevention-thomas-fugate-trump-b2764504.html

I don't think it's age so much as the complete lack of experience. Will you defend absolutely everything Trump does until the day you die? It's comical. Even incredible people make mistakes and can be criticised (not that Trump comes under that category, my God). No idea, why don't you ask one? I certainly don't think young people are stupid. I just think they don't have experience especially to lead in such senior roles in such crucial departments. Do you? It seems his main qualities are being cheap (after "doge" cut numbers in that department by 20%) and he is a self described "Trumplican". What other qualifications does he have to be in such a role? Wouldn't you want someone with anti-terrorism experience to lead an anti-terrorist department? No? Thought anti terrorism was quite important...

Was he good at anti terrorism stuff? The deflection is hilarious to watch. As is the Trump and Musk implosion.

Not one to gloat or say "I told you so". But I told you so, on April 29th. But they lasted until early June - not bad going. -

How are those free thinking and diverse thoughts going? -
I think they tend to resign when they realise they have parliamentary responsibilities and actual work to do. Much easier to shout about immigrants from the sidelines. Actual stuff to do? Ugh. Would explain why Nigel doesn't turn up even for the most important parliamentary votes about things he is supposedly passionate about.

People on AN showing pictures with their manky feet in them. Vile. -
Yeah, at Dubai T3 they are all mixed together, hence the security checks. At Singapore they are all mixed together too and everyone here raves about Changi. This is why Changi has security screening at the gates.
