Was Ex police officer Derek Chauvin wrongly convicted !
josephbloggs replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Cool, going to check this out, thanks. Looking forward to the part where it says keep your knee pressed on the neck when handcuffed and unconscious for nine and a half minutes until they're dead. No doubt it also mentions you should prevent medical assistance being rendered. -
British man’s Thai-high’ trip goes up in smoke at Manchester customs
josephbloggs replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A white person who had over 100kg of cannabis in five suitcases and admitted smuggling it deliberately!!! Try harder. How about the white person in the OP who was caught with a similar 40kg of cannabis in Manchester and received a similar suspended sentence to the brown guy. Any thoughts? Your imagined prejudice against the white people is hilarious........and pretty sad. -
I remember reading you have to become a member which is 40 baht for a year and then everything is free including tuition (but assume the tuition would only be in Thai). Not sure how accurate or up to date that is though. If I remember on my next visit I'll ask.

Thank you. I was in despair, but nice to see there is at least one other non racist poster here. So much disgusting nonsense in here, I almost pity them. -
Electric Vehicles in Thailand

Wow, that's amazing. But BEVs are a fad and people don't want them of course. -
Yes the water sports centre is still there and active - you see people kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. It's a lovely place. The nearest metro is Suan Luang Rama IX MRT station which is on the Yellow Line MRT. You would probably need a motorbike from the station as I think the only access to the park is from the furthest side from the station but not 100% sure as I always drive there.

British man’s Thai-high’ trip goes up in smoke at Manchester customs

Yawn. Any thread with any name that doesn't sound white like John Smith and we get idiotic comments like yours. Are you really that racist that you can't acknowledge Britain is a nation of immigrants? Second, third, fourth generation immigrants (or much further back if you want to go there). Only Johns Smiths are "good old stock" British names? What is your surname bobthegimp? Where do your family come from?- 46 replies

Probably 18 months suspended, 200 hours of service work and 10 days in rehab, if the circumstances were the same. You guys need to get over yourselves - poor little oppressed white people.- 46 replies

Here's one I did a month or so ago (which is exactly like all my previous ones) vs one done a week or so ago. I have done these many times so I filled out the online notification in exactly the same way as I have always done. I'm not worrying about it - I figure they just changed something and that's it.

On Line Scheduling Chaeng Wattana
josephbloggs replied to lykes2fly's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is absolutely no way I would queue up at CW for a re-entry - there is just no need. Get it at the airport whenever you next fly out. I just did it a couple of weeks ago at Suvarnabhumi, multiple re-entry. It honestly took less than five minutes from walking up to the desk to receiving my passport back, and that includes them doing all the form filling and taking a photo. 4,000 baht (3,800 for the multi re-entry and 200 baht for them doing all the work). You don't need to prepare anything at all. If it is busy it might take 15-20 minutes maximum, I can't imagine it would ever take longer than that. The previous time I did it a family of five got there just in front of me and there were a few already waiting, but I was still done in less than 10 minutes. For me, just do your extension at CW then get out of that hell hole as fast as you can. (I understand some people may be worried about the airport being busy or it taking so long they miss their flight but that is never the case, it's quick and easy). -
Police Checkpoints Must Adhere to Protocol, Says Thai Police Chief
josephbloggs replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Do they? Every time you use the toll they run out of the office to your passenger side to catch you for not having a license? Really?? I have been driving here for close to 30 years and I have been taken aside at a toll booth once and that was because I was speeding prior to the toll and they had radioed ahead. You must be mega unlucky to have them running at you every time you use the tollway. Poor you - the only guy in Thailand that this happens to. -

I heard about that happening once before eight or nine years ago but wasn't sure if it was a fable. -

I think this is a fair question. Look at Volvo for example - a safety conscious brand who limit their cars to 180kmh top speed now and have a "zero fatality" aim in the future. I drive an ICE Volvo and the safety aspects are incredible. But their EX30 does 0-100kmh in 3.6 seconds which is insane! It's a mini family SUV! I'm not sure why they make it so fast but personally I'm glad they do. Generally I think most EV owners drive sensibly most of the time as you smash your battery if you are doing 0-100kmh standing starts all the time, but it is odd that companies such as Volvo allow such crazy acceleration. I wonder what the logic or science is behind it - there must be something. -
But if you are on the cheapest fare you have to pay for seat selection.
