Hilarious. If only I had an EV.

Yeah, definitely didn't take away from the experience. An amazing vibe, great people, great fun. The money I lost wasn't a big deal but I did lose a pocket camera so the worst thing was losing the photos. Of course these days it wouldn't be an issue as most people save their phone pictures in the cloud. And like I said I was extremely drunk so I kind of made myself an obvious target. If it does go up your list and you seriously consider it just PM me or start a new thread and I'd be happy to share recommendations on places to go. I only knew Rio like most people but the rest of my itinerary was based on the recommendation of someone who had experience and it made all the difference. No way would I have known to go to Iguasu or the places up in the north east. I mean now there are a million YouTubers but not 18/19 years ago.

Report Thai Man Jailed in Singapore for Bribery After Public Urination
josephbloggs replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yeah, worked there for a while myself and visited probably 20 times like you. The people are nice and helpful as you say and obviously English is almost universally spoken. I just find the place a bit artificial and mostly it doesn't feel like Asia - I prefer a bit of chaos. And I hate the fact it is so artificially expensive, that's my biggest issue I think. Oh, and the accent. Nothing against it really, it's just not my favourite place to visit or spend long periods of time in. Give me Bangkok any day. -
I have done it although I think it was 2006 so not the most up to date advice, but routes are still valid. I flew to Brasil via London. Bangkok to Heathrow, approx 12 hours on Eva air. Couple of hours change to stretch legs and have a couple of beers, then around 12 hours on Varig to Sao Paolo. A stop in Sao Paolo then a 2-3 hour flight to Iguazu. However the Varig flight was late, it was a horrible old plane, the cargo doors wouldn't open and it took several hours to get our bags so we missed our connection. The London route is definitely viable as it breaks the journey in to two equal halves. But it was best for me as I could stop off in the UK for a few days on the way back. If I was doing it today I would probably just go with Emirates via Dubai. I spent about three weeks in Brasil during carnival time, traveling to 5 different cities, and a day hop over the border to Argentina at Iguazu. Best time of my life, highly recommend Brasil as a place to visit. Beautiful country, beautiful people, fun loving people. No vaccines. No visa required as a UK citizen. Took some cash and cards, no different than going anywhere else. Winged it. Was easy to get by, and also easy to pick up a few words. And that was before Google translate or anything. Not really. The culture was just FUN. Be friendly to people and get heaps of friendliness in return. The only thing is we heard so many horror stories (mostly from people who have never been) that when we landed in Rio we thought there was a decent chance of being robbed, so hid cash in one sock, cards in another with just small money in our pockets. Didn't even take a camera out the first couple of days, so I didn't get any photos from up at Christ the Redeemer or anywhere else we went the first couple of days. Then we realised we were being stupid and paranoid so behaved normally after that. I did get pickpocketed in Salavdor though during the carnival but I was extremely drunk so was an easy target. In short I would highly recommend it to anyone, I would love to go back one day.

Continuing your small penis obsession in another thread now? You have issues. Seek help. There are operations you can do.

Report Thai Man Jailed in Singapore for Bribery After Public Urination
josephbloggs replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I don't agree. Not a massive fan of Singapore but there is excellent public toilet availability. There are toilets in every single MRT station, every hawker centre, bus stations, most parks, all shopping malls. I don't think you can ever be far away from one in Singapore. -
One post from me. Dozens from them.

Can you two just get a room please, or give it a rest. This is supposed to be a thread about Bangkok and it is just you two going back and forth with inane "lol" comments, obsessions with penises and obsessions with emojis. You are ruining it for everyone, grow up for heaven's sake. I hope the mods can clean up your childish bed wetting nonsense so other people may enjoy the thread.

Thanks. Definitely for a child it was always your proof of address, maybe that changed, but when I initially applied for my daughter's renewal with my proof of address they did flag it and told me when they turn 16 it has to be their proof of address. So you were either let down by VFS who, for all their past faults, were really helpful for me - flagging that issue and even photocopying a couple of blank pages of my daughter's Thai passport I had accidentally missed (and they spotted). In the old days they would have sent you out to the copy station but she just did it for me and didn't charge. Or the fault is with HMPO in the UK which have had so many reported issues since they moved to Corby recently: lost applications, asking for missing documents that weren't missing, asking for original UK passports when we aren't supposed to send them, and cocking up my payment which should be impossible to cock up as they have a piece of paper with my credit card details and the amount they should deduct. Lots of threads about it on here. It is probably worth calling them to straighten it out before you send anything. +44 300 330 0901. We sorted our their payment cock up pretty quickly over the phone.

Boo hoo. But the thread title is referring to the types of image, not his name. I get it, you need to feel aggrieved, it's fine.

You would cross off one of the world's best and most convenient airlines because someone on an internet forum once had to pass two security checks when they changed terminals?
-
That's what I was thinking, T3 to T2 as it was a long journey. My onward flight was also Emirates so not sure why they would be using T2, but I guess it can happen occasionally for various reasons.
-
No. They have automatic trains between concourses and also between Terminal 3 and Terminal 1. If you are going to a completely different terminal you're on a bus. Happened to me last year unless you're saying it didn't. I don't remember what terminal I left from, but I arrived from BKK at Terminal 3, then had a maybe 20 minute bus ride to another terminal for my connecting flight to London (there were staff waiting with a sign with our flight number), it was a long bus journey and my second flight was fully boarded when those on our bus arrived. It was a very short connection window so it is possible the bus went from one end of Terminal 3 to the other, or it may have been a different terminal, I don't remember. Possibly landed on Concourse A and left from Terminal 1 - the time to go all the way through A, B, C to get to D to take the train to Terminal 1 would be too long so they bus you from Concourse A to Terminal 1. So it happens. Stop telling people their experiences didn't happen. Happened to me and clearly happened to the OP.
-
It's because on the flight out you changed terminals and went outside the secure area to take the bus. When you arrive in Dubai everyone goes through security before connecting to their next flight. Normally, if you are just changing concourses (A, B, C for example) within the same terminal you have not left the secure area. You left the secure area to get a bus, then entered a different terminal, therefore you need to go through security to enter the secure area of your second terminal. Not really a big deal, and not really difficult to understand. On the way back you transitted within the same terminal and didn't leave the secure zone, hence the usual single check.

How do you carry that enormous chip on your shoulder around? Must be very heavy for a snowflake especially. No-one in this thread has misspelled Putin's name deliberately which is what is not allowed. A "Putler" is a composite image and that is the subject of discussion, the banning of these composite images. It's hilarious how triggered you guys get, so easily. Snowflakes.

Oh no, I know it is biased against a certain group of people: black people. Lammy Review (2017) – UK Government Commissioned: Conducted by David Lammy MP. Found that Black people are overrepresented at every stage of the criminal justice process. Black defendants were more likely to: Be charged rather than cautioned. Plead not guilty (and thus face trial). Receive longer custodial sentences in some offences. Ministry of Justice Statistics: Black and Asian people are more likely to be stopped and searched. Black people are more likely to be arrested and prosecuted, even when controlling for offence type. White defendants were more likely to be given community sentences rather than imprisonment. Are Connolly and Yaxley black? I must have missed that.
-
Well they'd both be wrong and the would have plead innocent instead of both pleading guilty. Connolly plead guilty to the offence of inciting racial hatred contrary to section 19(1) of the Public Order Act 1986. https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Lucy-Connolly-v-The-King.pdf Yaxley-Lennon plead guilty to Contempt of Court. In what parallel world are they innocent?

Why are you ignoring my questions in reply to you, yet you're still popping up and bleating with nothing to back it up? Explain how it is a set up. What is bogus about the charges? I guess you must have studied the evidence so please do share. And how does the British judiciary and CPS allow bogus charges to be brought exactly? And please don't cry about Tommy as he has nothing to do with this, just explain using your own words. Let's see if you can manage this at the third time of asking. More nonsense.
-
All I read is blah blah blah Tommy Robinson blah blah, waa waa waaa. Try again using actual things and facts. I'll repeat the question for you so you can try, again, to answer it with words: What is bogus about the charges? I guess you must have studied the evidence so please do share. And how does the British judiciary and CPS allow bogus charges to be brought exactly? And please don't cry about Tommy as he has nothing to do with this, just explain using your own words.

That is true, although it doesn't look good for them given that there was enough evidence for an extradition. The police can't throw anybody in jail. Charges are only brought by the CPS and only when there is a body of evidence to support a case being brought. If the CPS deems the evidence weak they will not prosecute. And NOBODY EVER has been "thrown in jail" for posting an innocent comment on Facebook. Nobody. That has only ever happened in your head.
