  1. Always a pleasant thought - just go back to telling your co-workers they are going to die
  2. Ok - - so you have limited cognitive ability and can't remember your own posts...
  3. Did he post about getting beat up in Pattaya? I think he comes here on vacations and it does not go well for him??
  4. THE OP has stated a goal of wanting to live until 80 and then hire teenage girls to indulge him. He then taunted me as though I should be jealous... Some things are hard to forget.
  5. Did it ever occur to you that they are shocked at your rudeness? Everyone knows they will die. Whether they choose to think about it or not should be their choice and not have some jerk thrust it on to their immediate consciousness. Can you be that inconsiderate? And nasty... You must be a lot of fun in the cancer ward... Is this some sort of epiphany that you had and now you feel the need to share it w/everyone... ?
  6. Brubeck and the group all look like accountants - If they can do that with their instruments, imagine what they can do with my tax returns.
  7. I think it says near Gaza - surely not IN Gaza...
  8. Very kind of you... my nephew is a wonderful person. I have known him for over 20 years when he was 8 years old - he has a lovely wife and delightful daughter - - this is his 4th year working in Israel to provide for his family. Why are you so mean?
  9. my nephew is one of them... I will be glad when he returns home.
  10. Blackmores Hyperiforte... which as I understand is St. John's Wort - - I have had some occasional event induced anxiety - - when I feel the nervousness coming on, I pop one of these and within an hour, it is gone. Last time I took one was probably 2-3 months ago... good luck.
  11. I have a nephew working there - he is ok and I expect that the 'war' will now be nearly all one-sided...
  12. Sure, we all have that experience... We have all had posts about the moon that devolved into fights about Pluto... Maybe? Is this relevant? I had a friend from Pattaya visit and he was stunned that I was conversing in Thai w/o a hitch - - - I asked if any of his friends in /Pattaya could speak Thai - - he said, "yes, they all do - but nobody understands them.' Which might be why people are telling stories.
  13. oh, I have no objection to learning anything... I am conversational and speak in sentences so when I miss a tone, they probably pick it up in context... I can read, a little - my Thai friends message me in Thai... sometimes it takes a few minutes to get all the words... my biggest deficit is in comprehending - again, context helps but I do not always know every word that is used... almost no Thai person speaks to me in English. I enjoy the language and am always working at it, in my own way... I had a neighbor from England who could read Thai language - - he just didn't know what any of the words meant... and he never ddi learn. Seemed pretty useless to me, but...
  14. It is not that complicated if you listen and hear - - entrance, and rice just don't sound the same to me in both length and tone... identifying those tones is complicated for me... we each learn differently
  15. "long time passing"
  16. They are both correct... everyone learns differently... I am pretty conversational - can read a little - and I have no idea what tone I am using. The words just sound different to me. KHAOOOW - does not sound like Khao
  17. And where better than Cha'am could we all be?
  18. Buildings in the tropics have a lifespan - it would be important to know the maintenance fees and if there are many in arears... What is the management company like? I like older buildings too - - more character, but having people around is nice too... I looked there many years ago and was a bit put off by it being dark and too quiet... Are there any restaurants or convenience stores nearby? But I did like the style and location... I guess every place will have plusses and minuses... How competitively are the units priced?
  19. I sold the home 20 years ago... I didn't really need it anymore. Being an absentee landlord is a vulnerable place to be...

  21. In USA I had a lovely cottage that closed down easily, but I learned that if nobody lived there for 3 months it was considered abandoned and insurance was not valid. I tried letting the wife of the Senior Circuit judge in the county live there for free - and she let her son and GF move in when she was away - they pretty much stole 50% of my stuff...
  22. My niece wants to go to Thammasat. is it a good school
