  1. You can buy bulk Glycine powder on Lazada. I've bought some in the past. But then again, I'm not freaked out that everything from China is somehow unfit for human consumption. Western propaganda hammers out that everything China is "Bad," but at the end of the day, virtually all of the stuff Joe and Jane Average purchases in Walmart-Target-<add your Big Box Store here> are Chinese imports. But, as they say here in Thailand, "Up to you!" If you somehow believe that your Glycine powder sold by Western retailers doesn't come from China like a vast majority of pharmaceuticals do? Then try iHerb.com. You'll pay a premium price for the same stuff, well, in my humble opinion. I'm not anti-China. The Western corporation off-shored manufacturing to China decades ago and destroyed Western domestic manufacturing. The model holds true today as well. So if you think that what you buy from a Thai retailer who imports from China is somehow inferior? Well, I don't lay awake at night worrying about that. Best of luck.
  2. The one out by the Iron Bridge? I'll check it out the next time in CM.
  3. If I'm indulging my taste buds? I don't care "what additives are in it." <laughs> Wow - this has gone way off topic. I'd still like to know of anyplace in Chiang Mai that is selling Cream Of Wheat. If anyone comes across some, let me know. Shopee worked this time around. But I'd still like to know if any retail outlets are selling it in CM. Thanks!
  4. You've missed the entire point. You could mix vegetable powder in soy milk and ground earthworms, and obtain an nutritious meal which is also an "experience." But it's not an experience I particularly want. Cream of Wheat once or twice a year. Yep - it is an 'experience' to be enjoyed. Well, at least for those of us who have functioning taste buds and an appreciation of foods we grew up eating. "It's a bloody meal." Nope - not bloody at all. Very vegan and sustainable in fact.
  5. I've eaten lots of different grains and at no time has rolled wheat ever tasted like "Cream of Wheat." Like I said, this is one of those, "Geez whiz, I really feel like having a bowl of good old fashioned Cream Of Wheat. I'm just indulging myself. But I appreciate the suggestion.
  6. Pretty much nowadays is what is inside? At a minimum an Intel i7 processor, an SSD hard-drive, and 8GB RAM. Go from there. If it gets the job done, I'm not picky about manufacturer or brands.
  7. I looked on Lazada but the cheapest (473 THB) only had one left in stock. Tried Shopee and found it for 479 THB including shipping for the 794 gram box and they had a lot in stock. Pricey though. At current exchange rates that's about $13.60 for a box. Speaking of currents, I'll have to add in the cost of the raisins too (which I already have). This is just one of those "I just wanna have some" moments. A 29oz box is about $6.00 in the US. Cooked with raisins and drizzled with butter and cream. Yum. I'll savor every morsel. Priceless!
  8. I've had a hankering for some Cream of Wheat lately. I usually check to see if any is in stock when I go to retail stores in Chiang Mai, but haven't seen any lately (last visit at Rimping Nim Plaza was a zero as well). This is something I'd usually get at Kasem or Rimping, but can't say I've seen it stocked lately. Has anyone seen Cream of Wheat for sale in Chiang Mai in the last month?
  9. Any given experience with Immigration will be determined by the district, the office, the time, the day, the mood of office, the mood of an individual IO..... in other words, immigration law and its application are not uniform across Thailand at any given time or place.
  10. They are busting people who look like Thais to most farang. It's not like Joe Sixpack is out there selling somtum in a motorcycle cart.
  11. 50K is a self-limiting number. I don't make transactions in excess of that amount other than deposits made by US SSA. So personally, I think I'll just leave it as it is. It's an extra layer of security.
  12. Every year there are attacks on the efficient and efficacy of the Thai Health System, which in my humble opinion is one of the best public healthcare systems on the planet. What is really being said is that there are vested interests who want the entire system privatized. Then it will go to Hell in a hand-basket. Look at the NHS. I've seen our local Amphur hospital care for 200 people in a day, and 125+ in the first 4 hours. It ain't broken. But there are people who want to break it and then suck the life out of it.
  13. Try installing Libre Office for Windows. Try opening the Thai .docx file. If it works, re-save it as .docx format with a different name and then try Word again.
  14. After Many Decades Living in Thailand (or Asia), ... Do You Sometimes Dream of your First Wife....Left Back in the "Old Country"? Do you dream VIVID Dreams about her, too? No. In fact I seldom think of that cheating *****, except your OP stirred my memory. I don't dream about her at all.
  15. I bought mine from Lazada. No problems.
  16. Just print out Forms 29 and 30 and take them with you. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=3202
  17. He can leave his cardboard cutouts that the Thai citizens know and love.
  18. And you are asking to get hooked on short-half-life benzodiazapines. Trust me as someone who helped a significant other wean off of doctor prescribed Xanax - don't go there. "But my doctor prescribed it!" I don't understand people's stupid trust in "experts." The vast majority of those capable of prescribing a highly addictive drug to you have absolutely no idea how to taper you off of those drugs. Nor would they want to - You're an addict now - Legal ฿฿฿Cha-Ching฿฿฿
  19. I tried expensive CBD Oil. Didn't works worth a hill of beans. Two hits of local hashish and then tune it a US talk show. Well - I probably don't need the hashish. As far a OTC drugs go. Antihistamines do work from me. Specifically Hydroxyzine, sold under the brand names Atarax in Thailand. You'll dose between 25 to 100 mg. Start low and work up.
  20. But I want to know what knock-off he bought so I can buy it too.
