  1. Logged into this evening no problem. Now I'm just in HODL mode and watching the Geo-political scene. If war breaks out and they close the Straits of Hormuz I may do pretty well. It seems that we keep getting closer to the excrement hitting the spinning blades in that region of the world.
  2. The Generals and Admirals could tell him (and Congress) what to do. Not there yet. But the way things are trending <sound of air sucking through teeth> Ya never know...
  3. Just give him a glass of water. He won't notice the difference.
  4. How cute - someone who actually believes that the US has a functional democracy gave me a confused emoticon. "Awwww." 💋 "My vote counts!!! Grrrrr." Yeah, of course it does. <wink wink>
  5. The uber-riche and wealthy can buy in and make a fortune. But anyone betting on cock-fights will face prison time. That's about right, yeah?
  6. I'm sure that the victim will be blamed - TIT.
  7. But you can't buy beer between 2pm to 5pm.
  8. More Family-Friendly news from Pattaya:
  9. I could brand a pig with the word, C-O-W, but it's still a pig.
  10. In this new age of missile tech, carrier strike groups are little more than sitting ducks. Glad my Navy days are 40 years behind me. A CSG meant something back then in terms of power projection. Today. It's gonna look bad when a US carrier's flight deck is made non-operational by a bunch if guys wearing sandals with curved knives in their belts waving AK-47s and shouting Allah-Akbar...and then the CSG support ships coming to aid the carrier are sunk or rendered inoperable. "That would never happen to the greatest military in the world." Think not? Ok. But if I was a betting man I think I'd drop a few quid on Ansar-Allah or Hezbollah hitting a carrier within the next 365 days. It just understanding that the technology exists. Now who will be on the wrong side of Shock And Awe? Even if the whole dog and pony show goes nuclear - which I fully expect it will. Then? Global Warming in the millions of degrees Celsius range as the Morlocks head underground. Last person down please turn out the lights.
  11. Do you support Trump? No Do you support Biden Harris? No Do you support Taylor Swift? I'm sure she could do as good as any other sock-puppet installed into the position of the POTUS by the billionaire donor-class. Anyone who doesn't grasp that the US is a oligarchy which serves its own interests and the interests of the top-tiered stakeholders are simply fooling themselves. It's neither Left or Right or Center. It's whatever it needs to be to achieve its goals while it fosters division and divisiveness within the population as a means to control the commoners by pitting them against each other. If the commoners are at each others throats, then they are not at the throats of those choking the life out of them with austerity. If the public ever wakes up and finally understands who is pulling the strings and for what purposes, the people running the show would be tarred, feathered, and hung by their heels in the town squares. So who should be The President Of The United States? Mr. Potato-Head would do. Howdy-Doody would work. Alfred E Newman is always an option. But? Taylor Swift is easy on the eyes and she could sing the American public to sleep with her songs. My vote is with Taylor Swift! 👱‍♀️🎸
  12. This could be the POTUS and the country would run just like it is currently running. The position is a figurehead with very wealthy donors pulling the strings behind the curtains.
  13. Yeah I need to make a couple of adjustments to hedge my portfolio so it will be interesting to see if retail investors can log in when the market opens. It looks like most US brokerages threw their retail investors under the bus. I'm sure the whales had no problems making their trades.
  14. Honestly, which MPs are "in touch with the street?" A handful of back-benchers like Galloway who are ignored or procedurally shut down when they speak, and then called "A Danger To UK Democracy" by those elitists like Sunak, Cameron, Blair and the other pig-swill (I'm being nice) who take to their podiums to urinate on the democratic will of the people when they vote for those MP who actually represent the will of those on the streets. Then the street explodes (and you expected what?) And the elitist's response is to double-down on totalitarianism, to send out the militarized goon-squads to bust the heads of the most peaceful protestors (easiest prey), and then to lambast anyone who attempts to see the world through the eyes of the people on the street as they look down their Oxford and Cambridge educated noses and scoff at the commoners in their high-brow nasally City of London accents which personally makes me want to puke every time I hear them. It's time for serious change as virtually all "leaders" are out of touch with those whom they are supposed to represent when in actuality they only represent the monied interests of the wealthy, the aristocracies, and the billionaire-classes...and the commoners on the street be damned. Just making an observation based on the study of history, but ignore the will of the street long enough and then changes happen in a very undemocratic manner. And the irony being that to get back to the ideals of a democracy or a republic, the rot-at-the-top needs to be cut away and the system rebooted from the ground up. Considering that those who make the lives of those on the street a miserable exercise in austerity, it's just a matter of time before history repeats itself and begins to "rhyme." "History doesn't repeat itself but it often rhymes." - Attributed to Mark Twain
  15. I was a Yank kid but I was raised there in the 50s. Yeah - agree with you. Welcome to The Great Replacement.
  16. Yep. That's the other thing bob. Thailand doesn't give free room and board and stipends to migrants. They work.
  17. Actually I go back as far as Datek too. As far as my portfolio, I've nothing much in it that I'm worried about. If fact I've got a couple of trades that should be doing pretty well in a downturn. Mostly in cash and waiting to see where the dip is heading. If the S&P was halved I'd be happy. I'd start buying again if it hit 2100 and change. But honestly. History - this is probably a week long hiccup. The NASDAQ could bleed off a couple thousand points and not have percentage losses like I've seen in the past. Yeah - I just read about the brokerage outages. Sucks to be trying to dump positions.
  18. Abstinence. Not that it would matter with my 64 year old post-menopausal wife.
  19. I see that the <censored> Pandemic as back. Please go get your vaccinations. Safe and Effective!
  20. There is very legal avenues for migrant immigration from Myanmar to Thailand. I see them at immigration as well as at local provincial hospital where they register for free healthcare. Then if a Myanmar couple have a kid in Thailand - anchor baby. I know, I have friends from Myanmar who will be living here the rest of their lives with their little Thai citizens. Regarding illegal immigration from Myanmar? I've got to guess there are migrant labor quotas so those coming in illegally probably couldn't get a spot on the labor quota.
  21. Because Thai Immigration would kick their collective butts out of the country faster than you can say, Som-Tum. Highly nationalistic, overtly racist country allowing in asylum seekers and economic refugees? Dark-skinned "Kerk" from Africa and Central Asia? Ain't happening - ever. Hell, they can't stand farangs. Pour another drink bob to get your head on straight.
