  1. I believe the same with my First Direct bank account which I opened when they first kicked off. I'm restricted from borrowing money from them that's all. As long as my private pensions are paid in every month I don't see them having to close my account. If any changes I can easily go back to the UK address they have, I asked them long ago if they could send credit card and debit card to Thailand. Statements if required I can print off on-line. The free 250quid overdraft has been handy at times but I can go 500 and the interest charges on the 250 overdraft is not extortionate.
  2. There's always restrictions on what foriengners own and what foriengners can do in Thailand. Hence the 49%.
  3. I have seen them for sale here 2,500 or so, I will get one when My X chain is at the not adjustable position on my test swing arm markers. It is only half way at mo so many kilos to do still. I'm not entering the TT this year. As for sprockets even an amateur can see if the sprocket teeths have a flat top, obviously if they are looking pointed it's well beyond it's usefulness. For some these are one of the many bike parts on bikes which just get OCD opinions.
  4. If you bought a Regina chain you wouldn't have to lube just give it a wash and wipe now again.????
  5. I get in my truck and drive it, just top up windscreen washer level. My scoot and my friends Wave I look after just fill with fuel and check tyres when they feel soft. My big bike, before riding check tyres, check coolant level, check oil level, check brakes and all the lights. Didn't thinking it was confusing to people just how do you carry out checks.
  6. What i mean is we don't have a problem with rodents. Stick some wild cats up in your loft. ???? My in-laws smoke out the the loft areas.
  7. So how come FD a member of HSBC let me continue banking with them and except my only address which is in Thailand. Is there some kind of grandfather system or just a manager decision.
  8. ABS is a good thing I guess though I have never needed it. Preferably another thread I would say.
  9. Do something about it, easily done. I have no problem in my village.
  10. Depends on the spockets wear but a good suggestion if using OEM spockets.
  11. I'm sure you know I can understand that and finding a competent person in Thailand is difficult as I came to know. I am fortunate thesedays to know who and where I can take my bike if I don't want to carry out the work myself. Hope they sort your bike OK as least you will know yourself if they haven't.
  12. Well unlike this 62 year old guy be careful what you take.
  13. So it amounts to this in Thailand the moral of the thread is if you take your bike after the warranty is finished and continue to take your bike to a dealership and not know anything about taking care of a motorbike yourself you are shark wallet bait.
  14. OP should ask where a windshield fitter is and go there, they will do it while he waits.
  15. Yeah don't understand such behavior, any number of small big bike motorcycle workshops could of fixed a blowned engine. Utube is full of how to rebuild 390 engines.
  16. As already being thankful for your help my Mrs took my Thai Will into the local Amfur govt office after getting the Will translated and all was OK except they want me to put the date. ???? Always forget something.
  17. The scare reteric here over this is silly, people can use Wise these days and a number of other ways to get there money from UK. Myself would just have my private pensions paid into one of my Son's UK accounts. I say again no big deal
  18. Main dealerships that are competent can be found but many motorcycle workshop guys in my book are just motorbike service fixers but called mechanics. The technician guys are the one best working on your bike. In my experience seems the only way to find a guy capable of working on big motorbikes is to ask around and if you find a guy who has a kitted out workshop you can get lucky.
