  1. Arguing and then fighting over a Thai woman at 4:30am in that area of Pattaya? What a waste of time. Thai women in that area are like baht buses. There will be another one along in just a few minutes.
  2. Never applied for a Thai DL. Just my observations of Thai driving habits. Maybe they were sleeping during those videos.
  3. Probably have to import those videos as I doubt that there are any produced in Thailand.
  4. Give your child the best education possible. Personally, I would look at Regents and a few others in the area. Otherwise, I would look into your home country for a quality education.
  5. This has been going on for over 30 years. No surprise at all.
  6. I travelled a number of times back in the 90's to Penang, JB, and also KL by train. I've used both 2nd class sleeper and first class private rooms. It was a great experience and I really liked it. The Malaysian trains were nicer than the Thai trains.
  7. You must have missed my post just up the page. Met my Thai wife when she was studying at a university in my country. She is 7 years older than me.
  8. Trevor has his new bar on Soi "Pothole". Does he still have an interest in his other bar? I don't see him plugging that bar that much anymore.
  9. My Thai wife was seven years older than me. We met in my country when she was studying in university.
  10. Nu Bar in Pattaya didn't survive Covid and is no longer open. The owners had been in the bar business since at least 2005. Nu Bar hadn't been in operation that long. Previously it had a different name and location where it thrived.
  11. The two Thai men acted without even an ounce of human decency. At the very least they could have called for medical assistance. Instead, they just abandoned her.
  12. Need to capture these beasts quickly as they do nothing but wreck havoc on innocent people.
  13. How much is a Tourist visa these days? I was contemplating getting a Tourist visa through the e-visa system instead of a visa exempt that is good for 30 days upon arrival and then going to immigration and having it extended. The cost is 1900 baht to have it extended plus wasting half a day to go to immigration plus transportation costs.
  14. I get this on FB as well. It's almost always women with a very small profile that seems very dubious. I also get this on LINE with some stupid reason as to why they are contacting me. I just reply that no, we have never met blah, blah, blah.
  15. Maybe some day Bangkok will join the 21st century and integrate all the mass transit systems into one card. Until then we will just have to scratch our heads and stand in utter amazement. As a former newspaper columnist used to say.....TIT.
  16. Went to Vertigo at The Banyan Tree in the 90's when it first opened. It was very nice.
  17. I like staying over in Jomtien. It's a lot quieter yet if you want to go over the hill to Pattaya it is easy to do.
  18. Not surprised this happened in Phuket at all. The airport taxi mafia is just as bad. Just another reason I don't spend my holidays in Phuket.
  19. Some of the far-right Republicans are just certifiably crazy in their political goals.
  20. Yes, it is a thrilling flight. When I flew there in March 2000 it was still a dirt runway. It was paved in 2002 which is a lot nicer.
  21. Why? They cannot safely be brought down.
  22. You do not literally step over dead bodies when climbing Mt. Everest on the SE ridge. Those that have perished, but unable to be brought down, have been moved from the standard route. They are still up there but out of sight. These are all above the south summit and have not been brought down as the risks are too great. On the NE ridge there was one deceased climber, known as "Green Boots" as his boots were green that was just a few feet off of the route. He had died in 1996. In 2014, Green Boots was moved to a less conspicuous location by members of a Chinese expedition.
  23. Hey, that's kind of funny except I also bought a condo in 2006 and if I could sell it for what I paid for it I'd sell it tomorrow! Luckily I don't live in it as I live elsewhere. I used to have it rented out regularly before Covid-19 hit.
