  1. aah, that explains why the car is parked in the middle of the large road, heading towards the roundabout. not.
  2. the article says Naklua. that road isn't one way, you can see the double yellow line in the photo. it happened just at the beginning of the road, near the dolphin roundabout.
  3. this is to a large extent irrelevant when considering the driver's fault, it's the driver's responsibility to avoid collisions, especially with pedestrians and especially when driving within a city.
  4. Silo **** (so far) Watched the two first episodes - I will watch more. Interesting story. I think I won't give too much away if I say the story so far took place inside a place called "the silo", hundreds of levels where people live confined. Apparently, it is set some time in the not too far future, but the people forgot everything about their past, and doing research about the past is forbidden. Objects from the past are called "relics" and are for the most part illegal. For the series I hope the story has a plan to breakout of the silo, similarly to "the maze runner" and have plenty of content after a breakout, otherwise this will become tedious and boring. So far, we haven't seen much about the technology the silo people master and many questions remain open, where do the crops come from, where are production facilities for computer parts, light bulbs, medicine, AIR ? etc. they have electric lights everywhere, but no elevator for hundreds of levels, instead they have "porters" which run up and down the stairs, which seems strange, because there already were elevators before the middle ages in our own civilisation. Travelling up the whole silo apparently takes a day. That's the kind of detail that disturbs me when watching a show. If there are too many, it becomes stupid and I can't watch anymore ????
  5. this is horrible. I hope the defenders were prepared against that kind of attack.
  6. I wonder what the driver's excuse will be as to why he could not react in time to avoid the collision.
  7. the autopsy says MDMA toxicity is the cause. MDMA overdoses are very very rare, but this still doesn't mean there was something wrong with the pill. MDMA toxicity and the risks to experience adverse effects, potentially lethal, increases with repeated drug abuse. the body's tolerance for MDMA decreases the more often the drug is consumed.
  8. is a part of your post missing ?
  9. I meant the hinges https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i3825838129-s14579226168.html
  10. yes, the photo shows the frame can extend
  11. okay, I tried out some recommendations from this thread. Mr. DIY - the shop in my area (Rattanakorn Market) doesn't sell reading glasses Big C Pattaya Tai: 2 rotating stands, piss poor selection, nothing below 1 dioptre and expensive: 199 to 259 baht. Tesco Pattaya Tai: same as Big C, but only 259 baht. so it seems my question still stands. I tried out some glasses and it seems I need 1 and 0.75 correction, I'll check if I can find something on Lazada. 0.75 is a guess because they didn't sell it. EDIT: So I ordered 2 pairs with different corrections from Lazada for 94 baht. Let's see if that solves my problem.
  12. https://kyivindependent.com/peskov-russia-considering-variety-of-options-on-how-to-respond-to-alleged-ukrainian-drone-attack/ Peskov: Russia considering 'variety of options' on how to respond to Kremlin drone attack you know, Ukrainians are really scared about these threats. there are even rumours making the rounds that Russians are going to bomb Ukraine or going to invade and kill Ukrainians. crazy, right ?
  13. or infiltrated Ukrainians, or Russian partisans ... or or or
  14. some people will claim it was God's will to make everyone suffer unnecessarily.
  15. all depends on how the basket is composed and where retail prices were measured. typically, these baskets are out of touch with reality all around the globe.
  16. this is an area of the economy where the market works very well, salaries will adjust if needed.
  17. another series I recently watched: Red rose ** UK series about youths threatened by a dangerous phone app. I definitely needed subtitles! Interesting premise, but I felt the story was "schlepping" to borrow from Yiddish. Watched the first episode and then part of the second and the series failed to hook me. The story is interesting, but the way it was treated made me feel like the series didn't use it to its full potential, I hope something similar gets made, but this time with an app with much much darker motives.
  18. some more I have been watching: The old man ** an old man with a dark background. the story has a few good twists, but didn't impress me. the acting isn't stellar, I disliked the lead actor playing the "old man". The peripheral *** near-future sci fi. interesting premise, and story ok if the public is willing to overlook scenario weaknesses. Star Trek Picard 3rd season * awful. geriatric cast, retarded scenarios, magic science, deus-ex machinas, plot holes, bad acting, yuck. (and I generally like Star Trek) Ms. Marvel *** maybe **** for very young audiences (< 14y) Marvel for schoolgirls. Nice visuals, heart warming story, teaches tolerance, caricatural "bad people", etc. I felt a little out of place watching it as an adult. Poker Face **** I have only watched the first episode so far. Well made thriller, plot works. Reminiscent of Fargo. I'll watch the next episodes when I feel more like it. I'm a bit tired of that kind of story, so I'm probably not giving it all the attention it deserves. The offer **** A series about the making of the movie "The Godfather". Well made, entertaining. The night agent **** US agent thriller. Not very imaginative, but well made, solid entertainment.
  19. damn, I didn't think of that. do you know any good forum where I could ask ?
  20. just comparing in terms of like/dislike and if I keep it on my NAS after watching or not. yes, I agree about Rufus Sewell, The Man in the High Castle was a good series, interesting plot. It didn't achieve a permanent place on my NAS though. The beginning of the series was good, in the middle it meanders and I feel the ending was rushed. **** nevertheless ????
  21. the US Diplomat is a clear winner for me, although the UK series has prettier landscapes. but the UK series has a very shaky handheld camera, made me feel a bit seasick at times. didn't like the plot or the characters, I didn't finish episode 1. I'll free up the space on my NAS.
  22. we're not forced to stay in heavily polluted areas though.
