  1. I'm talking exclusively about RAID-1, so no data loss should occur, even if parity is lost. the laptop is not the issue. I'll use Clevo with built-in Intel software RAID. there are 4 internal bays. (... and a RTX 3080 with 16GB VRAM !) for the external enclosure, it seems nobody manufactures these, as apparently software RAID is the way to go. so an NVMe enclosure with 2 NVMe slots - that will need 2x2 USB 3.2 to fully use the available bandwidth.
  2. I will need at some moment to replace my aging laptop and also the external dual bay SDD RAID-1 enclosure that I use to hold my important operational data (yes, I do backups as well, RAID-1 is to ensure I won't experience downtime if a SSD fails). It's currently a cheap thing made by DeLock, I don't like it at all, and it can only handle SATA. I'm looking for a good quality dual bay NVMe enclosure that supports RAID. To my surprise, my internet searches only turned up some dodgy looking devices manufactured by firms I have heard about. such as: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/m-2-nvme-ssd-raid-array-mobile-external-hard-disk-2x2-586r-20g-i4831573689.html So I'd like to know if anyone's experiences with such devices er even with this one. Alternatively, I'd also be interested in other ways to achieve data redundancy with no downtime incase of disk failure.
  3. no no ... you just met a Thai "Karen" (sorry to Karen people in the North). Stupid people exist everywhere. Just ignore and move on.
  4. the illegal work would be for immigration police to tackle ? what are they doing ? regarding the sex work, Asians in general are unattractive to a vast majority of Russians, so that would be "specialty work" that can't be done by Thais and where foreign labor clearly is required.
  5. trust me, you will get a "digital wallet" !!! after betraying the majority of their camp's electorate. a good foundation for trust.
  6. Replying to the topic title, I would like to point out that Lazada isn't selling anything,
  7. hmm... I'd be in disbelief if any current printer really were incompatible with Mac OS
  8. service is not completely back though. some websites seem slow and on others only half a picture would load, etc.
  9. I understood your message as saying the 1530 hotline is generally useless. I guess others understood it in the same way. My opinion on their 1530 hotline is that it is quite good, and response to problems generally fast.
  10. internet is back ! careful with praise, sysadm are often themselves the cause of problems hahaha
  11. the argument is admissible, since you brought it up yourself.
  12. they are definitely making progress with the repairs, international connectivity still seems inoperative
  13. this indicates a failure of layer 6 or 7 in the OSI model, or simplified, "software error" when the network infrastructure is ok.
  14. Jomtien near Pattaya ... same. their phone hotline 1530 doesn't work either - a first I suspect a national outage or... a hack their website shows "database error". the DSL connection on my router is up, so their network seems ok.
  15. more comedy from Ruzzia ????????????
  16. damn, shocking news. will "soi Esso" get a new name ?
  17. all other things staying the same, yes, more money makes me more happy, indirectly. I guess this would remain true until I reach a certain wealth and then level off.
  18. actually, the Japanese ask guests that they want to leave if they would like to eat a certain dish. it's a Japanese custom and the guests understand it's time to say goodbye. Is there something like that in Thailand ?
  19. when all is over and Ukraine prevailed, I hope Kvartal 95 Studio will turn this into a multi-season series.
  20. I recently watched "The terminal list". Synopsis: some people conspire to do something bad to a Navy seal and he kills them all. Everyone in this production did a decent job except the plot writers. Predictable story, no unexpected plot twists, even more unimaginative than "The Night Agent". Director must have thought "yeah, the viewers will love the numerous and repetitive flashbacks of family life that bring very little to the story". After episode 4 or 5 I was just skipping these. I felt sad that such a solid performance brought such a simplistic scenario onto the screen.
  21. extra bits or not, all the misses all look the same. boring.
