  1. Ye really cant fix stupid. Trusting a waiter who would say anything just to move ye on. Then gulfing it down without confirming. Darwinism right there.
  2. I was just talking about this with colleagues last week. I see it as almost 2 years of completely lost education where the effects will be felt for years. My daughter has physically moved up 2 grades through online learning but academically i see she is well behind. Only consolation is that all the kids are in the same boat. 2 years is 25% of your life as an 8 year old - in some of the most formative years.
  3. I live near Klong Toei where they recycle all the pallets from the Port and make rustic furniture from them. I asked around all the wood shops there and they just use the cheap white TOA latex glue (school glue). I use it also on most projects as honestly its fine - but has no water resistant properties at all. There is a wood glue in Mr DIY (Waltek) that is actually quite good - it has that 'grab' quality that proper (yellow) wood glues have.
  4. Cant say ive seen Easy start or its equivalent's here. That said - even at home i never bought it. Something like brake cleaner was always at hand and works just as well. Even WD-40.
  5. Im sure many did. I'm just stating a fact i bought mine in 2017 - not sure why you feel the need to question it. I actually bought it for practical reasons when i had a largish some of money to move from Malaysia when i finished working there. MYR had to be transferred to USD to send out and i was losing a small fortune on x rates. So i bought Bitcoin instead and sent it that way FOC. When i withdrew my dollar amount i still had several BTC left over.
  6. I notice you like to make a lot of assumptions on your posts. Of course I took profits. I have long since pulled out my initial investment many times over. All cream now.
  7. I bought the crypto i have in mid 2017 when Bitcoin was 4k. This will be the second crash in my time. Not worried at all. I could sell today and still have done very well. Certainly wouldn't class myself as a fanboy - just another form of investment for me.
  8. My dear old Ma back in N.Ireland even gets by without one. A good day there is when it rains for only half the day.
  9. Huh. Been here 15 years and never needed a dryer. 2-3 days? They are dry in that many hours.
  10. I left an old microwave out last weekend. When i returned to the room i noticed the glass plate that rotates on the table (mrs had taken it out). Thought to myself i'll bring that down just in case someone wants to take and use the microwave. It was gone.
  11. Dont know about your Condo but at ours we just leave these type of items out by the bins and the foreign workers snatch them up in minutes.
  12. Summed up perfectly. Once your on the agent bandwagon you cant get off again. Immigration see it as a pay cut.
  13. I Didn't say i changed all. I added additional outlets in the kitchen and living room with either UK or universal sockets. When i moved back here from Malaysia i had quite a few nice things like espresso machines that had good quality molded UK plugs installed. I didnt want to cut them off and void warranty etc. The UK plug is a much better connection also - with a good earth.
  14. Not much help perhaps but i got mine in HomePro in Malaysia. Ive changed quite a few appliances to UK plugs as i hate the US type that's here + i have quite a few electrical things i brought from UK or Malaysia. https://www.homepro.com.my/index.php?route=product/product&path=1407&product_id=17036
  15. My Mrs hometown is That Phanom (Or a village near it to be more accurate). I find it quite pleasant and the old town by the river is nice. Between NP and Muk id pick the later.
  16. I had a similar issue in my condo i wanted a few extra outlets. I used armoured cable that we wire our industrial machines with at work. It has steel armouring under the sheath.
  17. Same with ours from 2008. Units on the market are asking pretty much the original sales price but they are not selling. Any one i know who did sell just took a lowball offer to get out. Trend i usually see in condos is the sales price peaks a few years after the project is complete and then starts falling off as it gets older and less desirable to thai's.
  18. 1st class insurance is good to have but you need to invest in the true thai insurance - A highly powered Amulet. Also if the monk has done his blessing on your vehicle you really should have little to worry about.
  19. He must be either very cheap or writes for free.
  20. To many variables here. Has she rotated her tyres front to back yet? Noticeably worn means what exactly - down to the thread wear marker? If the rears are ok you would normally get the same brand as its not normal to mix them. I would personally put be ok (and do) put cheaper tyres on my own car but i wouldn't gift them to someone else - in case of the small chance something ever happened. Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear stick to them. Give her 3 or 4 k as a gift and let her go to b-Quik herself.
  21. Agree but Singapore is an anomaly in SEA - with individual net worth on a par with the west. Malaysian is a fairer comparison to LOS. That said even Singapore considered dropping it when their initial contract expired a few years ago. Its funded up to 60% by the government. They can afford it. I love F1 but that show in Miami was a farce.
