  1. Couldn't you wait until you finally have the one year extension (about three months after exempt entry) without touching the "old" Bangkok Bank account? Yesterday I applied at Khon Kaen for the Non-O after having done Non-OA extensions for years (border run two days before). I used the same account lying since many years and no questions asked.
  2. Initially I didn't want to respond to this one millionth "can you live on..." thread, but if I read this in the OP: it is clear to me that this thread is better in fun/pub/troll forums. Groceries from the "imported food" section only. Bars in the 150+ range for a beer. Massage special and so on. Sure one can not "live" on 50k then.
  3. Passed through at Nong Khai last Sunday and filled a TM6 before even asking (like all others around, had to lend my pen ). Good to know that they inquired you to fill out. So there is no permanent "abolishing" of TM6. That's in line with the news about it. Temporary suspended to ease handling at the airports.
  4. That happens when I don't leave the country for years
  5. At the land border procedure as usual. And it's hardly a "card" anymore. What you keep is a thin paper slip about 9 by 8 cm. On the back you find a copy of the entry stamp. At KK immigration a copy was asked for. No idea what happens without.
  6. After having the new visa in August, I will go for one year extension (business as usual) sometime in October.
  7. Did today at KK immigration. Short summary. Sunday 17 July: Drive with my car up to Nong Khai and park there. Leave Thailand without re-entry permit (cost some persuading three immigration officers). So cancelled the tiresome Non O-A visa status. I had remaining extension until October but with all the talk and rising excitement about Covid wave I decided not to waste any time (was unable to do something in 2020/2021 due to border closures). Enter Laos for a 2 hour excursion. I am visa exempt, so can not contribute about visa on arrival cost/procedure. Leave Laos, back to Thailand. Again rising eyebrow about no re-entry but convinced the officer I want 30 day exempt stamp. Monday 18 July Off to Bangkok Bank getting bank letter for fixed deposit account (>800k since ages) Today 19 July Off to Khon Kaen immigration applying for Non O visa retirement. The heaviest copy orgy ever experienced Two sets with estimated 40 sheets of copies (bankbook completely incl empty pages, passport "only" to last non empty, yellow book, pink card, departure card...). Even though I had 2x copied what I was aware of I needed three runs to the copier. Ran out of small change. Near 40 signatures on copies. The lady officer double and triple checked before completing for the boss (division head). Finally paid 2000 Baht and the receipt was stamped with an under consideration stamp. Must come back Aug 12. As a free add-on I got a proper TM 30 based on my "yellow housebook" and "pink card". Never had an appropriate TM 30 in more than 10 years. I think I sat more than one hour!
  8. Sounds like you browse on a desktop device/PC? Have you tried varying the zoom factor for the site? Using a big zoom (140%, 150%...) leads to "interesting results" on my device. Currently edit box about 75% of the screen size and nothing to the right. Can't tell whether you will see the same.
  9. U-Tapao? Haven't seen any note about the major airlines serving. Bangkok Air and seemingly Thai Lion. Thai Lion does a flight to Chiang Mai but not daily. Otherwise U-Tapao dead as a dodo. Can't find a single scheduled flight for today as an example. Thai Vietjet Air or Thai Air Asia? My answer: Thaismile from Suvarnabhumi anytime ? It's always non stop jet. So something little over an hour. A mate once lost almost a whole day trying to get from Phuket to Bangkok with Vietjet. Just left on his own. Maybe a singular event but fits to your suspicion.
  10. Four hours for >domestic<? Wow, that really sounds over the top. But don't hold me responsible if things have worsened so much. International is a different matter.
  11. Just read a current article (in German) confirming this. (Roong Reuang Coach Co. going back to normal schedule) So 4:30 to Ekamai would that be (for me).
  12. Ok. Even as an early bird I never was at the bus station so early. If it was me I would check ahead at the northern bus terminal.
  13. My last domestic was on July 4 (Monday). Check in at ThaiSmile air was quick/easy (2 hours ahead). Then being hit by an unusual flight delay of 1.5 hours (planned 2:40 PM). No long queues at domestic pre-check and safety check. All Covid measures gone except mask. I read that they now even restart some meal/snack/drink service. I would not expect an unusual delay tomorrow (no special days/holidays etc.). What airline? What time of day?
  14. And arrive NEXT morning at 8 AM? I remind posters that the OP want's to catch an 11 AM flight, wanting to be at the airport at 8 AM! I doubt that there is any cheap trip option in less than 3? hours. Buses from Pattaya at 4 to 5 AM? Good luck.
  15. Long outdated. Crossed from Nong Khai over the bridge yesterday and back in the afternoon. Few Baht for shabby bus over the bridge and back. (I am visa exempt so no visa on arrival cost) I only did a border run. No visit to consulate.
  16. Seems traffic rules do not apply to military vehicles? Once stopped at the traffic light at a busy intersection with three lanes per direction. Suddenly the pickup on the left "makes way" and then a military truck sweeps through without any care. No special signal/horn.
  17. Thanks too. Just coming back from Nong Khai with my 30 day stamp. Tomorrow need a rest and Tuesday off to Khon Kaen. Too tired to write details. Will do a threat when KK has accepted my TM 87 application.

  19. Browsing through the site feels quite normal, not particularly slow. https://www.lotuss.com/en But asking for correct national ID is quite crazy for the English language version.
  20. Some haven't got the message yet. "Lotus's", probably the most stupid choice for Thai speaking people. And here it will have an effect, less choice for foreigners and higher prices.
  21. For the unknowing: this obviously happened in Pattaya. Surprised?
  22. So another visit to immigration office to get stamped.
  23. Dumb question came to my mind (could not find a clear answer). I read that for the Non O application you need at least 15 (or 21) days remaining permission to stay. Does this imply that the Non O application will be "under consideration" and a second visit to immigration office is necessary or is it approved on the spot/same day?
  24. Couldn't bother less. And the transfer to Kasikorn is shown as international (FTT)?
