From the OP it's totally unclear what is requested? Doing DL from scratch? Converting home country (which) license? Having IDP? Doing it from scratch is the only way with some challenge. Did it for motorbike in 2017. Otherwise just paperwork and the minimal physical test.

I would take the passport in my man bag nailed to my chest 😊 At AIS they have an app which they use to take a picture of the passport. Some automatic process behind. I doubt it will work with a copy.
