Can't find where she started. When I need a taxi from airport to Pattaya I use old fashioned prebooking. 1000 incl toll. No discussion. No hassle. No bad mood. Usually give a 100 tip. For me it looks like these app based hailing services are overrated here. Once had one from Phuket airport and also on the way back. Spare details but both troublesome experiences.

What Category of Diesel Do You Use in Your Vehicle?
KhunBENQ replied to Banana7's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
In a doubtful move the government decided to lower the price of 91 with tax reduction or the like. I have no idea what sense this makes. Years ago they announced that 91 will be abolished (like it is in most or all of Europe). A populist move to get good headlines about lowering fuel price. They seem to have no idea what logistics cost is. -
A fact is a fact. Can't shrink the earth. For a longer trip, try Lima in Peru Quite opposite to Bangkok, 20000 km (12500 mi) direct line.

And will they ever open the M6 (Korat - Bang Pa In) before the existing thousands of tons of concrete will start to rot? Since years I drove beyond this elevated motorway and nothing happens. Except some misleading signs making you think you can enter it. Must be a huge pile of corruption and incompetence.

What Category of Diesel Do You Use in Your Vehicle?
KhunBENQ replied to Banana7's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
PTT does not offer B20 currently. As far as I remember the crazy idea was buried after Indonesia cut palm oil export and drove prices skyhigh. More important to have palm oil on the supermarket shelf than in the tank. There is "Diesel", "Diesel B7" and some "Premium Diesel B7". As written Diesel and Diesel B7 same price. I am not sure but it could be that both are identical currently. Premium at a whopping 41+ Baht. -
Jomtien Immi open today?
KhunBENQ replied to GypsyT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes and so all government offices incl immigration closed. Main bank branches closed. Schools closed. Little to no effect to common people and businesses. -
Where to get a front/rear dashcam installed?
KhunBENQ replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Do you intend to buy the cams separately, just want it to be fitted? In most cities you find specialized workshops that sell and install such stuff. You can get kind of 360 degree recording for a price. I did a simple search for "dash cam rayong" and some results come up. (RCC - Rayong Car Camera, FB is in Thai language only) -
No you can't. Nearest usable stop is Tokyo. Distance to the westcoast (literally) on direct line is about 7600 km (4700 mi). Not doable in 7 hours. Tokyo to Hawaii is about 7 hours nonstop (popular frequent route)

I once got a credit for fee of next transfer as they were exceptionally slow (two added days for transfer). But that's all.

I can, many can. Don't have any card. "Installed the app" and registered successfully with identification and proof of address? Think you have to go through their help pages.

Undercover Raid Busts Tomboy Bar: 18 Tourists Found with Purple Urine
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
And maybe musicians/entertainers. Just browsed through their Facebook page ("4 step tomboy"). It's a "different world". It's worth a look. Some of the toms are really hard to distinguish from sweet boys/gays. "Tourists": on the party pictures and videos I didn't see a single "farang"/"Caucasian". Must all be local Thais or coming from Bangkok and elsewhere. -
German documentary reignites sex tourism concerns for Thailand’s Pattaya
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Seems you are right that the original excitement was not here in the forum. The documentation was broadcast originally in Feb 2023. The "Al Jazeera" from August is just a recycling of the same documentation (in English?). Blocked in Thailand is a joke. Others have posted youtube links and seemingly also on FB in English. For me it's quite superficial with little insight. Just spending money from compulsory TV fees for another repetition. -
Govt to Empower Governors with CEO-like Authority

More power and still unelected bureaucrats. Wise move -
Non O-A is a multiple entry visa that gives permission to stay for one year from each entry. Enter shortly before visa expires also gives another one year stay. So quite easy to have two years from it. But: health insurance needed and permission to stay not longer than validity of insurance. Application only in your home country or country of residence. Financial proof in your country equivalent to extension in Thailand but no money in Thai bank needed (keep money overseas). Some more hassle for application (police record). Was popular in the past, now much avoided.
