  1. Geography is not a strong point of Thai journalism. "northeastern"?? N W E S Hope this helps. Not a single location named has anything to do with the northeast. I was alarmed from the headline as you can understand. And the link to the article ends in a 404
  2. Fun spoiled by quite blurry videos. New cam or review edit/upload process.
  3. Clearly no from the numbers. More traffic, slower traffic on average, jams and gridlocks. Also not true for big cities in the west. Too much traffic does not cause deadly accidents. More deadly on open rural highways (if one can speed).
  4. The usual annual media show. A number of 36 deaths is way below the average on other days before Covid. It's not the seven deadly days it's just the seven days of jams/gridlocks. Cars in endless jams/columns can involve in many heavy accidents.
  5. What else could be zero emission? Same like the rich Arab countries that plaster the desert with cheap solar cells and produce electricity for about 1 Eurocent/kWh. With the enormous amount of solar energy available the low efficiency of electrolysis can be neglected.
  6. I played around with the Google flights site. And cheap flights are also 23h or so with 2 stops. Cheapest I find in May/June is ANA+United via Tokyo and San Francisco (~44k Baht). Fastest flights are 16h with 1 stop but really expensive (~70k). That puzzles me a bit. West is via Europe or Arabia and much longer. 25 hour is the lower end.
  7. I remember reading a lot about this clown here and in other media. It was quite a media wave some years ago. He speaks Thai very well and used that to make fools of Thai people on the street ("prank" style). Proving how stupid and uneducated they are. Can't find a good word for him.
  8. The other part of Songkran victims. It's not only traffic. Just read the "childhood friend" stabbed to death story. Alcohol and hooliganism don't mix well.
  9. Much overblown reporting. Being presented with a password hash without any context, what can AI do more than brute force crackers? The graphics though is useful. Length counts, over complex pw is not necessary, <A-Z><a-z><0-9> suffices with proper length >= 16. sTpxehc2jZVForutdY is better than .>,,{}:* in any category. Of course the long one is created by PWTech. AI can know as much about me as possible and still what's the difference. There is a recent thread where PWs were discussed.
  10. Thanks for the good news! While thailanguage.com is a multi purpose site I prefer thai2english for the easy/simple use.
  11. Bahrain and UAE what I always dreamed of. Hardly ever noticed a more useless ranking. German 2nd last. Yes that makes sense.
  12. Every year when it's too late I think: where you could you flee to? (neighboring countries) Not too far, not too expensive. Now sitting in the madhouse, 200 m from here a few thousand watts hammering.
  13. That's funny. I am a non native speaker and have zero problems to understand. Thankfully not heavy Texan or Australian.
  14. That's a screenshot of the immigration (Google) calendar (Khon Kaen) from their website:
  15. May well be that private businesses are open as normal but not government offices. See above. Indeed printed calendars and online calendars from year end don't show a holiday at all.
  16. Monday 17th is a government holiday, all offices nationwide closed. Can't comment on Pattaya specifics. Another poster in my thread wrote that banks will be open. (in line with BoT site).
  17. From today: Going the wrong way! Motorcyclist killed after collision in Phuket Wrong-Way-Driving Couple Suffers Serious Injury in Pattaya Motorbike Crash ... Waiting for more and pretty sure x such events unreported outside the tourist hotspots.
  18. Just a reminder. I noticed that this Monday after Songkran is not shown as a holiday on many online and printed calendars. So I double checked with latest news and immigration office calendar. It's the substitute for Saturday 15 (last day of Songkran). Don't try your luck on Monday, April 17. Government (incl immigration) offices closed. I don't know whether bank main branches will be open.
  19. Yet another reminder to have a dash-cam! Otherwise no one will believe what you see on the roads of this country. I will buy a new one with front and rear.
  20. Germany Hamburg (Herbertstraße open 6 PM to 2 AM) Not sure about Amsterdam.
  21. I had explained some entries in the yellow book, a post from 2015. Among them: * first name(s) of mother * nationality of mother * first name of father * nationality of father
  22. It's indeed a field to be filled for the "yellow housebook". Fortunately they didn't require specific documents on that. Particularly as nationality of both parents also asked. When applying for "pink card" be prepared for question about religion and bloodgroup
