Village perspective. Internet: When I moved here there were no private internet wired connections. Used GPRS mobile, 211 kbit/s. Hard to believe. 2013 paid a lot for my own fiber line. Now three companies, gigabit, MESH etc. Internet is definitely the most dynamic development as a base for entertainment, online payment/banking, online shopping. Shopping/Payment: Online shopping makes a huge difference when living in the sticks. No Central, no electronic malls, no sports world close by. The PEA man was cashing the electricity bill at the gate. Long gone. I have no more cash payments for services/utilities. (still love cash for other purposes) Banking: I remember the times when huge queues built up around months end with people carrying their bank books to withdraw cash at the counter. A fraction now. Electricity and water supply much improved and reliable. The bad: explosion of traffic in towns. In the old days I just drove to town and parked roadside to my choice. Now happy to find something. Even parking fees at some spots. Never in the past. Village road still a pothole and bad traffic particularly during sugar harvest. Noisy, stinky. Shopping mall etc.: still not great and foreigners are not an important customer base. Poor choice. The near monopoly doesn't it make it better. Long drive to the provincial capital for deli. Public health care still bad and last choice. Long drive for private hospitals.

Exorbitant payment processing fees for AirAsia flights
KhunBENQ replied to omnipresent's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
How do you know the total before selecting payment options? -
My situation even worsened today. So no chance to visit the mate. Can take weeks. Thanks anyway for the tips.

Can you obtain Mirtazapine OTC in Thailand (or a generic version)
KhunBENQ replied to Chivas's topic in Health and Medicine
I have used Medisafe a few times. Using messenger on their Facebook site. Their communication is not always perfect. E.g. you paid and no response. "Have you shipped?" "Yes", "Will ship now"... Online prepayment necessary. -
The map link is perfect. Huge shop.

Got my yellow book and ID card today

Was useful for me multiple times at the DLT e.g. Always entertaining to read about the hassle to get a residence certificate at some offices. -
The video shows a pump like I have with a pressure tank. But the guy has one without going into the house. Also not what I would have recommended.

Thanks so far for the contributions. Unfortunately I am currently handicapped to drive there and check on my own whether it really creates a problem. Got it through a video call.

A mate moved here in a newly built house. Single story house, tank and pump. Against all advice he bought a much too powerful pump (300 W?). Too much pressure on the outlets. Any affordable solution to reduce pressure?

Is my jazz stuttering because I’m using 91 gasohol?
KhunBENQ replied to cheeryble's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
As above. Problem is likely unrelated. But please stop using 91, makes no sense at a price difference of about 0.27. Fill up with 95, no new problem to expect. When was last service? -

My only rooftop experience is "Above Eleven" (Soi 11). And that was a wish from a friend visiting from Germany. Was nice and from I what I read less expensive than others. A friend from Jomtien could not resist to take his wife to Lebua Sky Bar. He would never tell me what he paid for a coke

The price IS regulated: https://www.globaltradealert.org/intervention/112034/price-stabilisation/thailand-government-increased-the-price-of-raw-milk I may be wrong that the price has increased to 95 Baht last year for 2 liter Meji. And name me another product that hasn't risen in over 10 years.
-
Unlikely. One of the products unchanged at 91/91.5 for 2 liter Meji since I am here (2011). Was it just rumor that there is some control/limits on the price of milk?
-
I remember periods of shortage. The first was simply from the 2011 floods. Transport hindered. For other periods I can't tell the reason. Granddaughter brought a 2l Meji full fat yesterday. Will use it thrifty ????
