Another knee shot. Our meter was previously connected to an abandoned shop house and has just been swapped "without bureaucracy". So I didn't see a discount and was too lazy to cart my Thais to the PEA office to bring things in order.

All time record. I should add that part of the peak is due to the fact that the granddaughter is here for a whole month. She wastes a lot of power and water. So we are four in a two storey house. Upper floor is an oven. Never had so much AC running in 11 years. There is no unexpected rise per unit. Compared to previous months we have overshot the highest scale of 400 units (704 units used). I hope this will settle???? 4291.60 Baht for 704 units. That's 6.1 Baht/unit.

Summer storms forecast until Wednesday in north-east and east
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
We just had the first storm and very little rain. And the weather radar shows that things are developing. Every cool-down and rain is welcome. -
But nothing tomorrow April 23.

Yes but again not what the OP is about. -
Hot weather blamed for increased power consumption and charges
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
And study the ever recurring alarm from users who have "not used AC more than last month" and wonder about the hefty bill rise. So you will see that such basic advice is necessary. -
If there is an election tomorrow (which I don't know about?) then yes, all closed from 6 PM today (Saturday) to 6 PM tomorrow (Sunday). Nationwide elections are on Sunday, May 14th. Saturday 13th at 6 PM shutters down. Maybe a local can comment on elections in Chiang Mai tomorrow? Wouldn't be a smart schedule.

Hot weather blamed for increased power consumption and charges

Congrats for your robust health. Poor neighbors do similar and catch a proper cold/sniffles. -
Hot weather blamed for increased power consumption and charges
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Yes but unfortunately some Thai people seem to have no idea that an LED light might consume 10 W while an aircon consumes a 1000 W or more. -
Missing woman found dead in a parked car at a petrol station
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
You were faster. From the side you can't see anything at many cars here. Front window? How many people walk close by and stare through. And even this is tinted. -
Turkish man assaults Pattaya restaurant worker, leaving him in a coma
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
He walks half naked at the remote end of WS and hasn't noticed what's going on? Scum. Expect more such to come.- 242 replies

So much confusion when reading misc news. Hope things clear up next week. My Ft is currently at 1.5492 Baht/unit as described in the Thai PBS news. If Ft is reduced to 0.9827 Baht/unit this would be a significant reduction. 0.07 reduction per unit is laughing stock.

OH NO!!! How comes that this message with the wrong silly numbers ( 4.77 to 4.70) can make it to a new thread? The correct numbers are in this thread: (from 5.24 to 4.77, reducing Ft by about 0.5 Baht).

WISE Account Number
KhunBENQ replied to Neeranam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
WISE installed an account for me located in Belgium (SEPA area). I can't remember but I think I had to apply for such an account? Before I sent money to a WISE account in Germany at some commercial bank from which the transfer was initiated. Lengthy and more costly. Now I keep some money in my personal account and initiate transfer occasionally. Cheapest method for EUR. -
Heat Index Rises to 54°C in Some Areas, Health Risk Warned
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
They do significant damage for Thailand tourism with these alarmist "heat index" numbers. In the western media it simply appears as headlines like "Heat wave in Thailand, temperatures over 50 degrees". -
Government says household electricity charges will be eased
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
We could start a "highest electricity bill ever" thread. The heat wave takes it's toll. My meter will be read on the 23rd and I have done an estimate from today. Will be a 4xxx bill. Never had in 11 years. (average over all 5.4 Baht/unit, ~ 14 Euro Cent) I will not complain to some Thai neighbors who live on a four digit income. -
Flying Domestic Within Thailand With An 8 Year Old Child.
KhunBENQ replied to Dmaxdan's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
His surname is likely identical to fathers surname (shown in English on the ID). And the mother should be able to tell you and send a copy. She could also send a copy of her ID and some words that you can travel with the boy. For domestic there should not be too much problem (abroad is another league). First name? Maybe you could ask your wife(Thai?) how it sounds. Together with the birth date in AD that should suffice. -
how to remove new sidebar in google maps

Again you become an involuntary tester. -
5 yr? Can you give an example? The 1968 convention allows three years. And that's what you get in many European countries. 1926 and 1949 convention is (was) for one year. Germanys biggest Motor Club states that for travel to Thailand an IDP in addition to EU license is necessary. I wouldn't take a chance when the s..t hits the fan.

Nok Air makes final flight to Mae Hong Son in northern Thailand
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
Landing maybe. But from numbers found on the net it's not long enough for takeoff (of course assuming full load). Interesting statement. Could TG afford to fly half empty 747?
