  1. Making a big fuzz about smoking under open sky but turning blind eye to the chaos on the roads. So disproportionate.
  2. What's so different? And how can they manage to reach their horrific mass visitor numbers without Chinese and Indians? In Pattaya the Chinese were still few compared to the Russians. And that Germans outnumber Brits won't happen there
  3. Deeply rooted part of Thai culture. Face saving more important than anything. Grin and wai.
  4. If it needed more indication about Phuket tourism on the rise, it's these daily accident reports. Let's hope there won't be multiple deaths anytime soon.
  5. You need a driving license to ride a scooter but no license to raise and mistreat children.
  6. Just do it. Have someone to take the video and contribute to the forum. Wonder what drugs you are on.
  7. Let's hope that the story and it's handling/cover up/hush money now make it to an even wider audience in other countries as a warning. Leaves me speechless. Crooks.
  8. My experience: Cardless withdrawals are free nationwide. There is no limit for the number of withdrawals. Can only be used at your banks ATM (for which you have internet banking). The latter is obvious as the methods differ widely from scanning an OCR to entering a magic number from the internet app. K-Bank is really easy. Still will have cards. 1) use debit card number for online purchase/payments and at some point of sales terminals. 2) cards can be used at any other of the big banks ATMs (cash pool). Four times per calendar month within the region without a fee. Outside for a fee like 15 or 20 Baht .
  9. Just repeating from above. Inspection, tax, insurance can be done everywhere in Thailand. Not bound to residence or sign plate. Millions of Bangkok registered vehicles drive around the country. Heaven helps it they all have to drive to Bangkok anually! Don't bother. Move and then go to "yellow cogwheel" workshop and let them take care. (of course you can do it all your own but just saves you some 1xx or 2xx Baht)
  10. Sometimes I think similar. Move out of the village and build a tiny house for me Have solar power, deep well/water pump and mobile internet. What more do I need? You can't be far enough from neighbors.
  11. Copy of the relevant pages carrying is useful. No need/too much risk to carry passport with you anytime. But separate this from the need to be able to produce the original passport e.g. at hotel check-in, bank counter and most unlikely immigration police (at least be able to get it from nearby condo/hotel whatever). On multiday/overnight trips I always take the passport with me and lock away after arrival. Never would I leave for a month without having my passport. No luck at the bank, no chance to flee Do you have a Thai driving license or other photo ID?
  12. No personal experience but the above report is in line with what you find on the net. I even avoided a domestic flight and after years did 570 km on the road by car. A well known Pattaya figure uploaded a video with his observations at Suvarnabhumi two days ago. New security screening system with too few devices and staff. Seems to be terrible. Not even half of immigration passport checks open etc.pp.
  13. Same to me. Once and never again. And endless tour from hotel to hotel until getting to central Pattaya. The driver was completely illiterate with English. So a female "agent" at U-Tapao asked passengers for their destinations/hotels and wrote it in Thai script (phonetic) on a note for the driver. When this cheapo bus turned into the Royal Cliff(!) compound I had a suspicion that this can't be right. And it wasn't
  14. Yes, sure. No shared transport. And TomTaxi uses proper limousines or the Fortuner type of vehicles (which I like less).
  15. If it fit's the schedule of the OP. It's only three flights per week. BKK is bearable without checked baggage. You then only have the delayed flight risk ????
  16. Amazing that a name that vanished decades ago is still in their minds. Better known as the Pattaya Klang (Central rd.) T-junction.
  17. Correct, same to me after border run and new Non O. And the OP answers his own question about the next due date (June 5th). So you can try to report from 22nd May on (two weeks ahead).
  18. More than 1000 women from Pattaya area online (within 2 hours or so) any time during the day. Call it nobody if it fits you.
  19. Yes. The TM7 is checked thoroughly by the immigration officer anyway and why should he/her ask for if you came by air. If you are unlucky you have to fill in the form again as some offices insist to use their prepackaged set of forms instead of the downloaded. Happened to me at KK.
  20. To my surprise there seems to be a flight from CM (CNX) to U-Tapao (UTP) by LionAir. It's not a daily flight, so check the schedule. Usually you have to prearrange private taxi from UTP. Advantage of UTP: closer and small airport much less congested than BKK. I drove by car last time because flying to/from BKK had become a pain in the a... On the other hand there are tons of flights to Don Mueang (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi (BKK). The latter one being easier/shorter for going to Pattaya. From BKK there are buses and taxis. Buses are about 1xx to 2xx Baht (I am not up-to-date with the latest prices). Taxis from the queue might ask for 1300 Baht or more. Service that I used repeatedly and worked good is TomTaxi (proper limousines, good communication): https://www.tomtaxiservice.com/ They ask for 800 Baht from UTP and 1000 Baht from BKK (all included).
  21. They are "envy" because they take the efforts needed to stay legal. But would they (and I) change roles? Sure not. And the same people shouting throw them out (without being affected) might come from countries where zillions of illegal immigrants suck empty the social welfare, being highly over-proportional in drug dealing and other crimes.
  22. Without proper nose job, boops job and lots of poisonous whitening creams chances are low.
  23. So many reasons. Not every man in the early 30s has wide ranging political reasons to change Russia for sunny easy life in Thailand. And if a young western man with a "powerful" passport tours the world instead of driving the hamster wheel it's called a time out. Of course he could have personal problems back home, who knows. Nobody finding the picture more disgusting than usual? Placed on an office chair, barefoot with a parade of nine proud officers?
  24. Hoping to attract more Muslim tourists particularly from Saudi Arabia? Can't wait for more. Even forbidding to drink water. Simply sick.
  25. Nothing. At the Jomtien nightmarket they are tourists like others. Complete families with children as you see on any other beach. It's plain stupid to demonize all 300 million Russians as war mongers.
