Girl, 5, found murdered and dumped in old septic well

By The Nation

KANCHANABURI: -- A five-year-old girl disappeared from a house in Kanchanaburi’s Sisawat district at about noon on Sunday and was found murdered and dumped in an old septic well at a deserted house in the neighbourhood.

Police said the body of the girl was found inside a fertiliser bag that had been dropped into the three-metre-deep well on Soi 8 in Moo 1 village, tambon Thakradan.

The body was found at about 7.30pm.

Captain Anusorn Sukto, deputy inspector of Sisawat Police Station, said the girl’s throat was slit.

Doctors believe she died six to eight hours before the body was found.

Her mother told police the girl disappeared at about noon and her and her husband waited until 6pm before looking for her at neighbours’ houses, before they found the body in the septic well about 100 metres from their house.

Sisawat police chief Colonel Wanchai Onlaor said a 25-year-old man with a mental disorder had been taken into custody for questioning.

He lives next door to the girl’s house.

Body of 5-year-old girl found in fertilizer bag

By Thai PBS Reporters

A 5-year-old girl was found murdered and her body stuffed inside a fertilizer bag dumped at a septic tank in Srisawat district of Kanchanaburi province yesterday (Sunday).

Initial examination showed she was slashed on the throat and had died 6-8 hours before her body was found at the tank of a deserted house in Tambon Thakradarn.

The girl’s mother told Srisawat police investigators that she returned home after work at 6.00pm but didn’t see her daughter.

If it was him.

He knew exactly what he was doing was wrong, as can be seen by him taking the time to hide her body in a sack and further hide it in a well. Mentally ill does not excuse crime, when he quite obviously in this case understood right from wrong.

Rip little one.

I can't count how many times I have had to write rip little one, since being in Thailand.

Depressing to read.

Hard to keep feelings under control.

This "mentally ill" needs protection in a well locked cell...

I am afraid that in this country there are even more insane people running free than in western countries?

Well I am sorry to disagree with your post though I see it was in the spirit of sadness for the girl.

Insane people do not understand that their actions are right or wrong. Insane people do not hide and conceal their crimes to avoid prosecution and being caught.

Just because a person is mentally ill does not constitute insanity.

Hopefully the Thai courts now understand this. Because I have seen many mentally ill people get shorter sentence, only to come out and kill many times again before being caught.

A death sentence with a commute to life would be appropriate.

Let's just hope this mentally ill person is not also rich and influential, as that can really mess up the wheels of justice in Thailand. Kirsty Jones, German guy at Samui, the Koh Tao debacle... the list goes on and on

RIP poor young girl.

???

Justice was served in each of those cases.

Nothing to do with this case.

The man is obviously not wealthy. He is presently at the police station. Though it might not even be him that did it. I find the Thai police very good at catching murders, even with typewriters and limited resources.

Justice was served in your mind, for what ever that's  worth.

The story of the parents doesn't seem to add up, 1st story says she disappeared at noon and they waited till 18:00, 2nd story says mom got home at 18:00.

1. Who leaves a 5 year old outside alone for 6 hours?

2. Who leaves a 5 year old at home alone all day?

3. How did they know to go look for her inside a septic tank 100 meters away?

I'm no expert but the story doesn't add up.

Never the less, RIP young lady, another tragic story..

Yes, I thought it was strange how they found her so quickly.

1. Not uncommon.

2. Again, not uncommon.

3. Legitimate question.

Points 1 and 2 are standard practice in Thailand, as crazy as that sounds

Keep in mind that until she was found none of those innocent would have known she had been murdered.  So where do you look for a small child like that who had disappeared?  Wells would be among the first places I would have looked, as a child caught in one would be in danger, unable to get out, and likely unable even to call for help (they could shout all day but no one would hear them if they were in a narrow well of even moderate depth).  It would be far from the first time a child had ever fallen into one.

Another sad story.

RIP Little One.

Too many people are jumping to conclusions here... just because the police are questioning the "mentally ill" fella from next door, doesn't mean he did it.

Innocent until proven quilty.

Who said he was insane or even the killer?

The mentally ill can be depression, unattended, or medication failure............it's NOT that i want to insinuate anything , but in Thailand  the within 24 hour arrests are usually the not so fortunate in Life.

A young life is taken, and i offer my sincere condolences to the little girls family and relatives.......

RIP little one..

I never said he was insane neither did the article.

I commenTed to a poster that referred to the man as insane.

I said exactly as you did, mentally ill does not equate with insane.

So what are you raving on about .

As it turns out the mentally ill man is no longer a suspect. Turns out it was a family member, as some of us thought.

Man found hiding in forest arrested over young girl’s murder

By The Nation

Police and troops have arrested a man for allegedly slashing the throat of a five-year-old girl and dumping her body in an old septic well at a deserted house in Kanchanaburi’s Sisawat district.

The suspect, Anusorn Saipin, 24, who was a neighbour of the girl in Moo 1 village in tambon Thakradan, was arrested at about 8.20am on Tuesday while hiding in a forest behind Siswawat Pitthaya school.

The girl disappeared from her house at about noon on Sunday and later that day her body was found in a fertiliser bag that had been dumped in the septic well.

Last night, police, troops, volunteers and forestry officials surrounded the hiding spot of the suspect before his arrest.

He was taken to Sisawat Police Station.

At about 9am, Kanchanaburi police chief Maj-General Khamron Boonlert interrogated the suspect.

Murder suspect arrested

By Thai PBS

0509004.jpg

A 25-year-old neighbour was arrested by Srisawat district police in Kanchanaburi province last night  for suspected murder of a 5-year-old girl.

The girl’s body was stuffed in fertilizer bag and dumped near a septic tank of a deserted house located just 100 metres from her house.

A combined force of police, border police and soldiers combed the area near the murder scene last night after suspecting her neighbour Anusorn Saipin might be a suspect as he went missing from home after the body of the girl was found.

It's great to see the rtp catching the right criminals.

As can be seen often times the first suspect and suspicions can be utterly wrong. Only to find that it was someone or two as the case may be, completely unexpected.

I guess having an education in police work helps eh artsi???

As I just explained to artsi. Sometimes the first suspect is not the "real  criminal ". But eventually the rtp get it right. Again.

Can't agree unless a fitup counts as "right".

Wait,

Sorry,

I forgot,

Framing someone, or beating a false confession out of them, counts as "right" with the bib.

Well, I guess if there was any evidence of framing, there would be further investigation.

Wait

Oh sorry there was no evidence of torture

And no need for a confession, because they caught this sod hiding in a field, and they have enough evidence such as cctv and physical evidence.

Let's hope they put this murderer of a young girl away for a very long time.
