She’s gone, Prawit says, get over it

BANGKOK: - Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan is unconcerned about public sentiment over the disappearance of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

“The public is no longer interested because they’re aware she’s gone,” he said on Monday.

Yingluck failed to show up in court on August 25 to hear the verdict on charges of malfeasance while in office regarding the rice-pledging scheme. She was last seen publicly on August 23 while she was making merit at a Bangkok temple.

Prawit acknowledged there was fresh speculation about her apparent escape from justice following revelations about specific vehicles in a convoy leaving her home that same day.

But he said he had nothing to add about the situation.

He said the government had no idea where Yingluck was, but it had people looking for her.

He said the Foreign Ministry had been in touch with Thailand’s embassies overseas on the matter.

Prawit insisted that no high-ranking officials had helped Yingluck flee, as has been widely surmised.

Given that he doesn't know where she is, or how she got away, how can he say with certainty that no high ranking officials helped?

Just criminally negligent, then. I await the first prosecutions...

Because he said so, that's how - see it's simple you just had to ask him.

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan on Monday chaired a security meeting to discuss the escape out of the country of ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra.

His advisor Panitarn Wattanayakorn said the meeting today would hear authorities reporting latest developments in their attempts to find the fugitive ex-premier, particularly witnesses’ accounts, and video footages along the route from in front of her house to the border area.

They would report to the meeting how many vehicles were used in the escape, and how they met.

The guy is a moron! Just look at him..........he would struggle to run a ma & pa shop with the IQ he possibly has. A complete Gimp!

Well you could hardly expect him to admit they were in on it, could you? So instead they are just going to have to put up with being laughed at and calls for their prosecution.

How a man with shockingly low intellect and glaring incompetence could rise to such a high military rank is beyond my comprehension.

Wait! He probably got it because...

I don't understand how Thai people have survived so long with such incompetence in this country...

If you look at various statistics, they are not doing so well.

Thailand is plagued by incompetence at every corner.

By any chance did he appear at the press conference with a large brush in one hand whilst standing on a less than innocuious lump in the carpet??

She's gone so get over it. Just like the 1932 memorial plaque, it's gone so get over it. Just like democracy, free speech, gone so get over it

Really?..I wouldn't bet on that.
