Do handheld fans work to keep you cool?

I see those little battery powered fans with what looks like 2" blades for sale at some places. Some appear to have a water reservior as well for squirting moisture. Do they work or are they too small to result in any meaningful heat relief?

I've seen people using them, so I would say yes.

 

Good to carry in a bag to use in places like on a bus or any non AC space away from home.

Yes they do. I bought a few for my relatives when they flew inn, because I knew they would struggle with heat.

For the minimul price of said fans, I'd buy one & try it for myself.

The simple old style hand held fan works just as well. Think of it as valuable wrist exercise to keep your joints subtle.

those little fans work best when you wave them in a circular motion in front of your face,no batteries needed.
