How to remove password notification top right

Hi

 

I keep getting a notification top right about a mail password for a mail address I rarely use........and don't want to go through the password thing for fear of getting locked out.

The macbook logs in itself

So I simply went to preferences and changed the notification to none.

It still comes up and is a nuisance 

What to do please?

Think you'd be better off telling the mail application not to run as startup (and therefore not have a reason to request you furnish a working password).
