Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on Wednesday said fugitive former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra is now in foreign country but declined to elaborate which country.

“I do not know. Do not ask me,” he replied to reporters when asked if it was a neighbouring country or not.

The comment came before the Supreme Court verdict in Yingluck’s case came out.

On Tuesday, Prayut said he knew the whereabouts of Yingluck but declined to reveal her location until the Supreme Court verdict came out.

It was the first admission from the military regime that it had located the runaway ex-premier.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled unanimously to sentence Yingluck to five years in prison.

The fugitive politician was convicted of negligence in preventing corruption and irregularities in her government’s rice-pledging scheme prior to the 2014 coup. The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders ruled that Yingluck had acknowledged the illegality of government-to-government rice deals but refused to cancel a contract with a Chinese state enterprise.

That would be real justice, makes the country look what it has turned into these last few years.

Yes justice indeed and a huge embarrassment for some.

Yingluck is in a foreign country, says the PM.

Does that man not realize how stupid comments like that make he look.

They have announced that a police lt colonel has admitted driving her to the border, so it is clear to people she is in a foreign country.

The man said - a foreign country,

They all look the same to him.

He demonstrates a similar level of intelligence to a young lady I met a few years ago. Fresh off the mountain, she thought there were two countries, Thailand and Farangland. Yingluck must be in Farangland.

The man stands alone on this one. What a git. All of Thailand knows except him? Let me guess. It's a country that stars with the letter U and has three words in its name. Within this country is a city state that starts with the letter D. Also happens to be where her brother is. Boy this guy really is something else.

Exactly. The great revelation is "in a foreign country". Wow! Such brilliance. I am in awe.

"I come from election; we not do wrong, never ever"

Will she explain how never attending any meetings she appointed herself to chair isn't negligent? Or why she ignored warnings from internal auditors, the World Bank, the IMF, Bloomberg? Or why she herself praised the G2G deals to parliament that were later found to be frauds? Will she <deleted>. Expect just more of the usual babble about how unfair it is that the courts just don't see things as the Shins want.

Same old boring Shin BS no doubt.

Would actually be great if she was interviewed by an aggressive journalist like Stephen Sakur on Hardtalk. She's be in tears again!!
