Transfering Money Within Thailand

I just discovered Transferwise last week on this forum.

I have been using transferwise for many years now and regardless of what other people have said about other means, after my own research on their options, none have yet been able to match it.

As long as the amounts are not more than £2000 i should add.

Many companies stated they were better but as soon as you went to transfer the rate dropped or was different then previously advertised

It also comes down to how quick you require the money, Transferwise from UK normally talks 4 days but has been 2 days on occasions

I am always happy to hear about other options if anyone has them

This is a really basic question.

What's the easiest was to send money to people within Thailand.

I'm transferring money with my Krung Thai Bank online banking system.

They need to send me a code on a mobile phone.

I don't have a mobile phone so I have to use my wife's

Is there an easier way to transfer money from my laptop at home

to other people in Thailand.

Hi, you must be getting cash from somewhere for your everyday use, so why not draw down the amount you want to transfer and then take the cash, bank name and account number to the nearest bank and simply tell them to transfer it.

That way you save the over the top bank charges of Western union and others who charge a high commission plus give a really low exchange rate if sending in one denomination to Thai baht.

The bank you take the money too, will charge between 20 and 50 baht for the service.

You should not experience any problems military or otherwise because you are giving them cash money and they press the button to transfer it, so win win methinks.

I know you said " transfer from your laptop " but that is problematical for you, my way should not be.

Hope this is helpful.

For transfers within Thailand

Online banking

PromptPay

can be done via a laptop but will also require a mobile phone at some point. Once you have a mobile phone though they're very convenient.

With just a mobile phone, most banks have mobile banking which is convenient.

Without a mobile phone:

ATM transfer

Go into a branch of the bank of whoever you're paying to and simply complete a deposit slip and deposit in their account
