Koh Phangan - Don Sak - Surat Thani

Hi all

Hope I'm posting this in the right place, but I thought I could trust local knowledge.

Can anyone tell me how long the ferry from Phangan to Don Sak takes, and is it easy to transfer to Surat Thani airport (ie are there plenty of taxis, or a shuttle service etc)

I did the ferry journey last year but for life of me can't remember how long it takes.

I read somewhere that the ferry service may have even been cancelled, but would resume in the new year. Can anyone confirm the service is running.

Long story short, I have a plane to catch at Surat Thani at 12.30pm, and from what I can gather, the first ferry leaves Phangan at 7.00am.

Is this journey do-able ??

ferry takes 2.5 hours normally. allow another hour and a half to get to the airport and you will be ok. there should be vans going to the airport from the pier.

Raja Ferry leaves at 7am. 2 1/2 hours to the mainland and another hour and a half to the airport. Make sure to tell the girl at the counter in Phangan that you are going to the airport; they do have a bus that runs to the airport but need to know ahead of time how many people. Should be no problem making a 12:30 flight
