Hair Loss in Phuket

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a problem with my hair. Ever since I started living in Phuket, I have experienced hair loss that is due to the water. I am positive that the water is causing this problem, as whenever I travel to anywhere else (including other cities in Thailand) the problem disappears.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest a hair product that I can use (I am a female). I have also seen threads in Facebook groups for the same problem that other women experience, but none seem to have a cure.

Thank you very much!

Maybe wash your hair in bottled water? There are bergamot tonics and shampoos which supposedly help control hair loss.

Buying a gallon of mineral water every other day just to wash my hair (also mineral bottled water can cause hair problems in itself)? Nope.

Collect rainwater? Am I in Somalia or something? Do we not have modern medicine in Thailand?

Kindly bumping the thread and hoping for some serious answers from people with the same problem who fixed it. Thanks!

Interesting thread, My Thai GF looses lots of hair ( but still appears to have lots of hair). She has tried every product available and is always looking for information on the Internet.

Being Thai, she tends to believe anyone in a white coat, celebrity/model etc.

A Dermatologist friend in Australia advised that 90% of hair loss is a medical condition, vitamen deficiency, old age etc and often not much to do with shampoo, water etc.
