The day that these "racial minorities" mainly blacks, will start respect the law and order of the land they kneeling on and not make the police the  targets of their hate and loathing, this act will start to have meaning...

And the day the racist dinosaurs , mainly ill educated whites , wake up to reality , will be the day such acts are no longer required.

What's that the NPHCWAUBA? You make that up. You would think there is a Secret Police Society. A 'Crime Wave' over the top.

It is national from coast to coast and border to border.

When gangsters do it it's call a crime wave. When the police do it publicly without any secrets it gets called by this poster as the National Police Homicide Crime Wave Against Unarmed Black Americans.

If it isn't catchy so what. It is meant to get people's attention as a way to express what the NFL and others are drawing attention to and objecting to. If it displeases some people, well, homicide has nothing pleasant about it, especially when the police do it and it is understood by 'em to be free of charge(s).

The 8 year old football players who took a knee in the video I posted had asked their coach about the riots occurring in neighboring St. Louis where an assassin homicide cop got acquitted for killing a black guy....

Coach, parents support 8-year-old football players kneeling during national anthem to protest racial injustice

They decided to take a knee to support St. Louis protestors who are protesting the acquittal of a white cop who was accused of killing a black man

The team’s coach, Orlando Gooden, said that he was having a discussion with the team about the protests during practice.

“One of the kids brought it up and asked, ‘What’s going on in St. Louis? Why are they demonstrating and rioting?'” Gooden told the Belleville News-Democrat.

One of the kids told Gooden: “Because black people are getting killed and nobody’s going to jail,” Fox 2 St. Louis reported.

Pence is an Indiana native and went to the game to show support for his team.

Instead he sees these silly people posturing and he rightfully refused to be silent in the face of this blatant disrespect.

The NFL is dying fast...

Pure coincidence that the Orange Clown told him to do so ( as evidenced by the Twitter twit in his nightly boasting and ranting session )

Disrespecting the flag and the Anthem because of social injustice is misguided.

I would say you have the whole thing wrong there. That is the tail wagging the dog. Your flag and anthem are supposed to represent who you are as a nation and what you stand for, and if the country is plagued with social injustice that is the very time to protest and to make your Government understand that you will not allow them to normalise any social injustice they inflict on the nation, and you will not stand before the flag and anthem that you say people have died for and accept a standard that you and your nation does not accept. The problem is that Trump accepts white supremacy and racism and that is why he has raised the issue and is making you all now normalise the injustice that goes on. He is making people feel bad and be outcast for protesting the evil that the administration are sanctioning.

My "principled ideals?"

Cops are killing unarmed black people for free.

Trump's Nazis were in Charlottesville again Saturday night.

Trump's Troopers love it to include the vast majority of politically active military veterans who are rightwingers through and through.

Good point. Can you back that up?

you may find this  hard to fathom, but we need to DISarm the police  IMHO  ,  a hammer seeks a nail ,  start watching this  website daily and contemplate "what is to be done?"   http://killedbypolice.net/

sadly,  human nature is the usa is a distorted mess of common sense,  neoliberal hogwash  of the govt being the thing to fear, when this is a symptom of exploitation and propaganda, that "the market" is less evil that some socialism form.

why must americans have AR-15s  with silencers ,  because we are in a war of our own creation with  the real winners  being the arm's industry and the capitlized prison system ......     but the Texans  only understand  "guns make us "free" "  in a pyrhhic version  of  any real "freedom" ;   really

are the russians coming , just in case , if we all had AR-15s   we'd be safer  just in case,  meanwhile   we  live in our bunkers , afraid of "contempt of cop" if you are black ...

theres your 'freedom' for your dead nuclear children  omega man ..........:P

PS:  sadly  if you DID take away Americans right to watch the NFL on sundays,  something  might be done , though  the bipartisan neoliberal   slide  is  a secular  event ..... perhaps  if  some of the gerrymanding goes, things could improve a bit ,  but  'turning around an aircraft carrier'  would  possibly  require total collapse, see:  derivatives CDOs

They are paid to do a JOB. protest as much as they like in their own time.  It's pathetic. What next?  an NFL player Christian fundamentalist has the right to protest Muslims by wearing a Hijab?

If owners and NFL body has no problem, perhaps Trumps should be more focus on his job. It's pathetic he is wasting tax payers money on issues like this and dividing the country even more.

Nothing wrong with not liking America but that's what the football players are saying and you might as well admit it.  We fought a war over issues that many in the country didn't like and it has always been legal to protest.

Am I a super patriot because I don't think the black panther salute is appropriate for the National Anthem? I don't think so.  But, of course I would fight for their right to sit or give the black panther salute to the National Anthem if that is what they wanted to do.

You are twisting their words to suit your own thinking and spreading false information just like Trump. They never said they don't like America, they are only protesting the treatment of blacks by the police. Two completely different issues. Many of the NFL players have came out to say they respect VETS for what they have done, and this protest is not targeted at them.

Perhaps if you people like you simply acknowledge their cause, America would be more unified.

Apparently it is very hard for the Vets, Police and EMS workers to understand it is not disrespecting them as they have all said so in many newspapers and online and Chicago Police Officers Take a Knee, and Get a Reprimand.  I guess it is only you who understands what the black players actually mean.  BTW is sitting and giving the black power salute during the National Anthem also innocent?

You see that is the problem with Americans, not trying to understand each others problems. Trump made it worse by saying the players protest are about disrespecting the flag instead of the race issue. Trump completely twisted the players cause yet his followers continue to blindly follow what he says.   The issue pretty much died down and nobody really care much about it anymore until Trump brought it back again.

I get it, I do think that its also not the best way to protest, but this is part of America's Freedom and free speech like it or not. If the NFL body is fine with it, then it shouldn't be an issue. If NFL said its not, then its not, follow the rules.

America is being divided more and more with the left being too left and right being too right.

Simple don't play it. I can assure you that if Lewis Hamilton got down on his 'knee' after Japan GP he would be a driver no more. No Premier League club plays it so just remove it and remove the controversy and as for your "dividing the country' don't you think those prima donnas are doing that?  keep politics OUT OF SPORT

Note the words "May result in discipline...." apparently the board of NFL don't want to fine them and support the player actions. Now get over it and accept the NFL's own decision.

Deflection and baiting. The rules are CLEAR

"respect for the flag and our country"

The NFL lacks any leadership on the issue and are afraid of liberal PC willy wagging. STOP POLITICS IN SPORT.

The rule is there as a general guideline, they should change the wording and remove "may result in discipline". It should be clear cut like "will result in fine / discipline". But again, the NFL board is on the side of players, so stop your whining and let it rest. If the NFL decides to change their rule book, then its their decision and good for them.  Agree to disagree and move on.

Politics in sport doesn't all have to be negative, it can be used to raise awareness for a good cause.

Analysis: The NFL rulebook makes no mention of the national anthem. But the game operations manual does.

This is an excellent example of using quote mining to change the meaning of a few words.  Here's the full context.  It is suggested or recommended (note use of the word "should", not must) in the game ops manual that players stand because...

Quote

...we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country.

In other words, there are some members of the general public who are stupid enough that they might see kneeling as disrespectful, so it's suggested that players should follow certain protocols to appease them.

Pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook

DLu7sJiW4AAMVjl.jpg

A complete fabricated Lie, and like the Trump supporter you are, you state it as gospel truth. What you have written is FAKE and a LIE. Are there rules on this forum about doing such things?

First off, there is no "A62 or 63."

Page 62 pertains to the enforcement of 15 yard penalties, special exceptions for 15-yard penalties and ejections. Page 63 focuses on penalties for illegal kicks and batting the ball.

Here, have all 92 pages of it   http://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/2017-nfl-rulebook/  You can even download it and print it off.

Like your Dear leader, you intentionally try to deceive and fraud, and that is what you have done on this forum and to the members. That degrades the opinion of others of your flag and anthem and what it stands for more than any footballer kneeling because of unarmed black men being shot. Their protest has some good in it, who could argue against that (apart from a Trumpeteer). What you have done is so representative of why the USA is going to hell in a hand basket but at the end of the day, you don't give a crap. Lying and fraud are the new 'normal' for the very un White House and you like a good

Trump supporter will follow suit.

Still I support the men and women that have died fighting for your right to lie to others around you, even though you disrespect them and your flag with your actions. How you and other Trump supporters behave is the antithesis of patriotism.

Keep us posted thx.

After all, NFL in USA and militarily deposed Thai prime ministers and other Thai women are central to the thread. Not to mention your antitank rockets you ascribe yourself as having -- tongue in cheeks of course.

Have a good one thx.

I beg your pardon? The NFL 'game operations handbook' contains the rules for this. The quote is from that manual.

You called it the "Rulebook" until more informed posters pointed out it was the "Operations Manual".

This section of the Operations manual was drafted circa 2008-2009 as a result of PAID sponsorship from the DoD to the NFL. Prior to this teams stayed in the dressing room until AFTER the national anthem was played.
