North Korea says Trump has 'lit the wick of war' - Russia's TASS agency

MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump has "lit the wick of war" with North Korea and his country will be made to pay with "a hail of fire", a Russian news agency quoted North Korea's foreign minister as saying on Wednesday.

Tensions between North Korea and the United States have risen in recent weeks over Pyongyang's nuclear weapons and missile programs.

North Korea has test-fired several missiles and conducted what it said was a test explosion of a hydrogen bomb as it advances toward its goal of developing a nuclear-tipped missile capable of hitting the U.S. mainland.

Speaking to Russia's state-run TASS news agency, North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho said his country's nuclear program guaranteed peace and safety in the region and would not be a matter of discussion.

"With his bellicose and insane statement at the United Nations, Trump, you can say, has lit the wick of a war against us," TASS quoted Ri as saying. "We need to settle the final score, only with a hail of fire, not words."

Ri has previously called Trump "President Evil" and his comments are likely to fuel an escalating war of words between the U.S. President and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

"We have almost reached the last point on the journey towards our final goal - to achieve a real balance of power with the United States," he said.

"Our principal position is that we will never agree to any talks in which our nuclear weapons will be the subject of negotiations."

And of course, we have never heard any bellicose or insane statements coming out of North Korea have we?

And there's the problem.  Negotiating is impossible.  They want to hold the world hostage with their nuclear weapons.

Two wrongs don't make a right.  If a naughty boy at school dumps a can of paint on a girl's head, what's the appropriate response?   If you're a Trump fan, it's; get another can of paint, and dump it on the bully's head.   Why does it feel like I'm addressing a group of naughty toddlers?

Barking dogs do bite.

Trump is playing a tit for tat bluff game.  It's stupid and dangerous.   Not for Trump personally.  He'll be on a golf course in NJ or FL.   It's dangerous for millions of people in E.Asia.  Trump has zero compassion for anyone outside of himself, his immediate family and some of his buddies (as long as they continue to heap praise on him).

Look what happened to Gaddaffi when he gave his weapons up.

BS.  They are for keeping a brutal dictator and his family in power.  Plain and simple.  Maybe if they quit attacking the South, the US troops would leave? LOL

Look what happened when South Africa gave up their weapons?  Gaddafi was done in by his own people.  From his decades of rule as a brutal dictator.  Nothing else.

The Korean dictator was producing mini movies of the total destruction of the US.

That alone would have been enough for me to bomb and flatten them. Time for talk is over.

What happened...as I recall it, he was hunted down like a dog by his OWN people and when pulled from that sewer pipe, it was a joyous Libyan who shoved that knife up his butt.

These tin-pot dictatorships like Iran, Libya, Iraq, and North Korea pursue nuclear weapons yes, to protect their regimes from efforts of the United States to overthrow them so they can continue their oppressive and totalitarian reigns of terror against their own people. Democractic representative polities have nothing to fear from the U.S. and that's why you don't see any of them pursuing nuclear weapons.

I am not sure

But this is for sure and has been proven already:

"Kim has zero compassion for anyone outside of himself,   not for his people and not even for his immediate family and some of his buddies"

See they have things in common. Maybe they can expand that. I'd like to know why they are both "clappers"? They clap at this that and the other.... clap clap clap clap. What's up with all this bloody clapping? They giving themselves applause for getting the "big boy" (300 + lb guys) pants on?

They being Kim and his cronies, and they are looking out for their own skins. If preserving Kim as a tyrant seems like a lofty goal, then by all means - spew some more of the same slogans.

Replace "N. Korea" with "Trump", and "Trump" with "Kim". No difference.

N.Korea hasn't attacked the south since Fat Boy's grandfather did in the 1950's.  Maybe you mean 'threatening to attack.....'

South Africa gave up its weapons?  What history books are you reading?

I agree that Gaddafi was snuffed out by his own people.  They should have done it decades earlier.

You're right.  The more Trump pontificates, the deeper in doo doo he sinks.   Every US prez prior, has taken the higher ground when dealing with NK.   Trump is coming at it from the swamp (that's the only direction he knows).  He's lowering the US to the level of N.Korea, with puerile name-calling and sword rattling.

Some Congresspeople and media talking heads keep hoping Trump will somehow, miraculously become presidential.   He's 71 years old, for Krysaches.  He's not going to suddenly change and become wise and presidential.   Like Popeye says, "I yam what I am."   Trump has shown everyone who's watched him, for decades, what a decrepit shyster he is.   Anyone who hasn't seen it, is choosing to be blind.

Google North Korea incursions.  You'll see a very long list.  With casualties incurred by the South.

You can also Google about South Africa.  Gave up their nuclear weapons program in 1989.
