Some three hundred people gathered outside Muang Surat police station last night to demand action in a case where a volunteer policeman in a patrol pick-up collided with a teen.

The group had been stirred to action by an online call to "meet at the police station to have some 'look chin' ". They want justice for the teen and an end to the use of volunteer cops and roadblocks.

Five representatives of the crowd were invited inside.

They presented seven demands including an end to volunteer cops, drugs and weapons checks for police including checks of weapon licenses and an end to roadblocks.

They want the case properly investigated by an independent panel and charges of impersonating a policeman brought.

After the chief of police agreed to investigate following a one hour meeting the crowd dispersed amid cheering, reported Tnews.

The police had earlier said it was just an accident but the people are saying that is a cover up for what really happened.

Sounds as though they want a cover-up of their own. A permanent one.

Local mafia start using social media BRILLIANT :clap2:

Their demands: An end to Volunteer Police, and end to road blocks and drugs and Weapons checks?

Huh ? they want to move weapons and drugs freely without risk ???

Something is very wrong about this.

Their only reasonable demand is an open investigation into what happened.

It is still unclear... was the guy driving the Police car a volunteer Policeman ? if so, how could there be charges for against him for impersonating a Police officer ?

Or was it a Volunteer Policeman, off duty taking things too far and impersonating a fully fledged Police Officer ?
