To pick some nits: the value is not $900 but might be better stated as "with currency value of $900 if they could pass them off", or something like that.

I have a friend in Pattaya who went to PP in Cambodia and in a market place saw a vendor selling large packs of US $100 bills (50 or maybe 100 bills in a pack) for just a couple dollars, so he bought a pack of them just for fun and brought them back in his bag when he flew back to Thailand...........

We had breakfast a few days later and he showed a couple of the bills he had with him, and the rest of us scared hell out of him telling him what 'could have happened' if customs at the airport had found them in his bag.........

He didn't have any 'illegal plans' and got scared when he realized that he could have got himself into a mess of 'deep DoDo'............

Unless they have a lot more stashed away I hardly think $900USD will keep the 3 of them in kabab's for more than a day or so.

Good chance they have been scammed, now the double whammy.

Deported? In the interest of multicultural fairness they should he afforded a punishment for counterfeiting and fraud equal to that what would most likely be handed down in Iran, by trial of the “Islamic Revolutionary Courts”.
