Win 10 Fall Update -Pagefile/Swapfile/Hyberfil.sys

I just noticed a few things that have appeared since updating to the Fall install.

Firstly there is another Windows.old folder that needs to be deleted that was taking up 37GB.

secondly - on my C Drive, despite originally having the Pagefile moved to another drive, and the Hyberfil.sys turned off - I now find the following 3 files back on my C drive being used.

I have removed Hyberfil.sys yet again (using the powercfg command) and it has cleared.

However, pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys are still there and using up about 900MB between them.

I have checked memory usage in the advanced system properties and as far as Win 10 is concerned it is still saying that there is no paging file on drive C. (I have my paging file set up on my D and E drives - These are set to SYSTEM managed and the D drive pagefile is 36GB!! and the E Drive pagefile is 5GB!!) - I only have 32GB of RAM, so they do seem a bit large.

Anyone else noticed this and anyone know how to get shot of it?

Thanks.

Here are just a few guesses, probably some people have a better answer. First of all: is your Drive an HD or SSD? If it is an SSD, you should turn off hybernation mode. If your drive is an HD but you don't use hybernation, go to settings (hardware - energy) and turn off hybernation mode. If you delete that Hyberfil.sys after that, it won't come back.

You say you "only" have 32GB of Ram?  That is in my eyes a lot. If you use hybernation mode, no wonder it is a big size, because windows writes everything in the hyberfil.sys what it gets from the RAM, thus: the more RAM, the bigger that file.

The Windows.old you can get rid of if you go to configuration/system security and to system management. There is the option free up disk space, with which you can delete system files among which is windows.old.

Hope you will find everything.
